Today we use electronics for almost everything whether it is for games, or communication, or for looking up information that is needed. Some people believe that that they could not live without their electronics; like it was another part of their body. While others believe that electronics are not a necessity; that they can live their lives without ever picking up any form of electronics. Either way it has been a long debated topic. It is a debate on whether to get rid of electronics or not to get rid of them. It is not a debate that is being done politically; it is mostly done personally within families, and it probably will be debated for a lot longer.
Some people believe that, yes, we do need electronics. One argument they address is we need it because of gaming and the benefits of it. At the University of Wisconsin researchers are convinced that the test of the future will look like the video game called Crystals of Kaydor. Crystals of Kaydor is a role playing video game about aliens. The researchers designed this game to measure children’s learning in real time, while taking their brain and rewiring it to be more empathetic. The video game offers a potentially transformative response to two debated questions in the world of testing: Whether digital technology can effectively blur the lines between assignments to instruction, or how educators can better gauge social and emotional skills of children. “Our job is to provide compelling examples of what assignments can be,” said Constance Steinkuehler, associate professor of education at the University of Wisconsin and former White House analyst. Mrs. Steinkuehler and her team are working with the university’s Center for Investigating Healthy Minds. This is headed up by a renowned...

David Gelernter author of the essay, “Unplugged: The Myth of Computers in the Classroom,” used some rhetorical appeals but not many in his essay, whilst trying to logically persuade his audience that computers could be utilized in the classroom, but under certain stipulations. Gelernter has great credibility for speaking on education and technology, as he is a professor of computer science at Yale University, so he more than anyone should know the outcomes of using a computer as a tool while teaching. However, when it comes to technology a lot of older generations usually are pretty biased when discussing technologies advancements, Gelernter still had some very good points! Using computers while teaching our young children can be useful but with strict moderations; when, where, and why, because if not heavily monitored, computers could be extremely detrimental to the learning experience and processes for many students.
Despite criticisms of video games in the media and among much of the general population, video games have many positive aspects. Walton points out that much of mainstream press tries to put forth the opinion that video games are a plague upon young people (and sometimes even adults) today—blaming such diseases as diabetes and mental issues like sociopathic behavior on video games. Rarely are the positive aspects of games shown—increased hand-eye coordination, development of social problem solving skills, increased attention levels, better collaboration with other students and better grades. By far the largest concern of technology today is video games. There have been so many experiments and studies to try and figure out if video games have a negative or positive effect on our children. A growing body of research is linking violent video game play to aggressive cognitive, attitudes and behaviors (D.A. Gentile, 2004). Video games can obviously be dangerous for our children causing aggression, bad performances in school and obesity. Although we cant blame all of these problems on the use of video game...
Almost everyone attends a school at one time in their life whether the classroom includes technology or not. Research shows that technology isn’t used as often as one might think. The article, “High Access and Low use of technology in High School Classrooms” illustrates the use of technology by stating that only one in ten of elementary and middle school teachers are daily users of computers (Cuban, Kirkpatrick, Peck). Most schools now have classrooms that use technology throughout the entire class time and even at home to do homework. Although some people might agree with the use of technology in class, it is more harmful to the students than useful. It can cause many distractions, it can be difficult to use and can take away from learning time.
Technology is becoming more and more dominant in our society.Everyday upgrades are being made and new innovations are being discovered. Technology is all around us whether we want it to be or not: it is the vehicles we drive, it can be found in our homes, and can even be found in the grocery store.Every place we look there is some type of technology.I believe technology has had a major impact on our school systems and is still impacting it today. There are those who do not agree, though, that technology has impacted our schools.Eric Gormly writes, “In fact, many theorists point out the overall impact of technology on education has been quite small, manifesting little discernible change in the classroom.” [1]Yes, there are some schools that are not as advanced as others, but many of them do have a significant amount of technology in them.I find it fascinating that so much technology has been incorporated into our classrooms, but I believe that, even with all of the positive aspects that are associated with technology, there are some negative and even dangerous aspects that should be taken into account.I will be sharing some of the equipment that has been used in the schools, how both the students and the teachers use the equipment, and also the positive and negative effects that technology has had on our schools.

Not many people would argue that computer technology is bad for the K-12 classroom. There is, however, a serious and thought-provoking debate going on regarding computer technology in the classroom. At issue is to what extent and at what age should computers be integrated in American classrooms. There is no question that a certain level of technology will bring improvements in academic achievement. In one study on children of low socioeconomic status a definite improvement was seen. It was noted that, “Increasing the technology available to students encourages, facilitates, and supports student achievement – at the elementary level, the most profound effects were found in the area of mathematics” (Page 391). Page also states that, “numerous studies have demonstrated that young children’s self-esteem or self-concept directly affects their academic performance” (Page 391).
...repercussions from using the internet immensely, such as, teenagers having medical treatment for mental problems. One mental problem from excessive time on the internet is depression because they are isolated and have less communications with others when they are on the internet.

Teens productively use electronics all the time in their everyday lives. You can use electronics to help you in school or to help you learn. A lot of people use computers or phones to help them with their homework. You can use an online dictionary to look up words or you can look on google
Iphones, Computers, Social Media, the most important things to children and adults alike along with being the most recent controversy between parents these days, but are electronics all that bad? Or are there more to them than what meets the eye? Electronics can be used for so many things to benefit us and others, open up plenty of opportunities for all ages and allow us to make so many more connections with others around the world.

The introduction of technology into education has revolutionized the teaching quality and learning outcome in the last ten years. The integration of technology into lectures by teachers in classroom has become so natural that both teachers and learners consider computers and their related applications for instruction are “a routine component of the classroom and educational processes in general” (Nuldén, 1999 cited in Buzzard et al., 2011, pp.131-139).
