For my research topic I have chosen the topic “Distance Learning” also known as online learning and e learning.
I am going to use ethos in my argument by listing references from credible sources that have outstanding backgrounds in education to help persuade my audience that online learning is just as good as traditional learning. I will also list studies and statistics that have been done supporting my claims.
I will also be implementing pathos by explain how some people would have never been able to attend school if e-learning did not exist due to their busy schedules and taking care of a household at the same time. Ethos, Pathos and Logos are all modes of persuasion used by a speaker to connect with their audience to get their point across during an argument.
Ethos is when a speaker is trying to persuade someone that he is a credible source when discussing or arguing on an issue.
Example for Ethos: If I were a Doctor and I was trying to convince someone to get a procedure done I would say I have been a doctor for thirty plus years and have performed theses procedures numerous of times trust me I know what I am talking about ask anyone you know in the business about me.

Pathos is a persuasive method used by a speaker to tap into people’s feelings to gain an emotional response from their audience.
Example for pathos: When you are watching T.V. late at night and a feed the children Ad comes on and you see kids starving with flies all over them you feel horrible so you send in a donation.
