In the field of psychology we come across many theories and assumptions. Those theories often have explanation and are usually explained with an example such as personality. Personality is explained with theories that everyday theorist and psychologist use. The most well known theories that explain personality are dispositional, biological and evolutionary theory. This paper will discuss the differences that come into the field of psychology among dispositional, evolutionary, and biological personality theories and there relevance in the field of psychology as well as in human behavior. This paper will also discuss the Big Five personality test and the method that is used to study everyday personalities.

Dispositional theory is responsible for development of the objective personality test which is used to gather information about an individual’s personality behavior. Evolutionary theories explain personality traits in terms of adaptive value (Sarah, 2012). This theory has an influence on an individual behaviors and peer relationships. The limitation of dispositional theory is the theory describes people rather than trying to understand them. This theory relies on self report personality test to validate and measure its attributes. Problems of test such as social desirability and aquiescence also raise questions in regard to the dispositional theories (Paul, 2009). Biological theories also have limitations as well. Biological theory has a limited method for testing theories. This test or evaluation was created by David Buss. The Big Five personality test attributes are significant to traits that are given to human beings as a procreative benefit. The Big Five personality traits are well known throughout the field of psychology. This test is recognized and frequently is used model or personality in theoretical psychology along with all psychology in general. The model uses the factor analysis to look at the response of individual’s personality (Sarah, 2012). Big Five personality test has many factors but the main factors are extraversion versus introversion, agreeableness versus antagonism, consciousness versus un – directedness, neutrocism versus emotional stability and openness to experience versus not open to experience. These Big Five Traits on behavior often react to the same situations overtime. The Big Five traits help individual’s act in response to reliability in the same situation that may behaving in a given situation. With this situation; the situation may or may not mean there are inconsistencies. The Big Five test can be argued as a predictor of single behavior of acts, but they also can be better predictors of general developments of individual behaviors. For this test, this would mean an individual would have to observe their past behavior which would ultimately be a better predictor for their future
