Discipline in the Classroom
When interviewing Professor I found that by working diligently and participating in class, earning a good grade could be a task, which could be competed easily. Professor Jesse Ligo is the freshmen accounting teacher at Thiel College In the one on one interview his personality seemed straight forward almost like is class. Professor Ligo described him as hard working gentlemen who hate laziness and other forms of procrastination.
Ligo had many reasons for selecting this form of discipline to teach. Reason one is he likes the business topic in general. With its verity of theories, Accounting is a major that interested him a great deal. Professor Ligo also showed interest in the rules such as the many differences in right and wrong which accounting had to offer. However, Professor Ligo proves him worthy of teaching college accounting not only because of his personal knowledge, but his work and internship experience before his major. Before becoming a college professor, Logo worked as C.P.A and also was an entrepreneur at one period of time.
Jesse Ligo chose in instructing students at the college level mostly because his personal college experience was enjoying. Professor Ligo went on stating " that he would have trouble working with JR. high and high school students." He feels he couldn't understand or relate to a lot of their adolescent problems. But being that his college experience was so good. Logo feels better acuainted with the more matureness and complexity of college students. Logo goes on stating that college students are generally more serious and they also have the disapline that most of the younger generenations lack.

Despite Ligo's busy teaching schedule , being a college professor isn't what makes up all of his life . Outside off school Ligo runs is own farm with his wife and children , which is a small business that brings in on a separate account up to $60,000 dollars in income each year ..In conclusion professor Jesse Ligo is in all areas of his profession a diligent working professor. Jesse is ashamed that Little Jesse is nothing like him when he was a young boy, convincing himself that they cannot connect due to their difference in interests. Jesse tries to figure out how to celebrate Little Jesse’s achievements in his new school, so he asks his co-worker Mary Lou what she thinks would be a good activity. She is in disbelief
A science teacher in Mississippi asked her students to take a picture with their completed DNA Lego model. John Doe took his picture with a smile and a hand gesture in which his thumb, index, and middle finger was raised. This was enough to earn him an indefinite suspension with a recommendation for expulsion because his school administrators believed he flashed a gang sign although he was simply putting up three fingers to represent his football jersey number. (NPR Isensee, 2014). This kind of criminalization of young people contributes to suspension, dropout, and incarceration, and too often pushes students into what is referred to by many education scholars and activists as the “school-to-prison pipeline,” a term that refers to “the policies and practices that push our nation’s schoolchildren, especially our most at-risk children, out of classrooms and into the juvenile and criminal justice systems” (ACLU 2013). The School-to-Prison Pipeline is one of the most urgent challenges in education today. This paper will focus on the following circumstances and policies contributing to the school-to-prison pipeline: 1) resource deprived schools, 2) high-stake testing and 3) zero-tolerance discipline policies. However, it is important to note that the school-to-prison pipeline is a broad problem not limited to these three components and has been influenced by historical inequities (segregated education), concentrated poverty, and racial disparities in law enforcement (NAACP, 2005). They have each served to isolate and remove a massive number of people, a disproportionately large percentage of whom are youth of color, from their communities and from participation in civil society (NAACP, 2005). Over the course of creating a critical reflective journal there is one experience that stands out. It was a visit to George Washington Community School, an urban school in Indianapolis Indiana, to observe the role of teacher preparation. During this visit my intent was to observe the concept of formal, common, and frozen registry for communication between teachers, students, staff, and community. During this exposure I was able to see discipline in a school setting in new and revealing way.
Lucas Pacioli was the first to describe a system of debts and credits in accord with journals and ledgers in 1494. These basics came together to be the concoction for what is known as accounting. Since the formal establishment of accounting in 1494, the field has expanded as the demands of the ever-changing economy became greater. The industrial revolution created the first jump in the field forcing the creation of sectors within. Since this first creation of sectors, accounting as a field has been creating more specific sects to accommodate a large variety of areas. The most common and large sects created this far include public and private accounting. Although both sects carry the same basis for their work, the variation between the two lies in their demographic, demands, and decoration.
According to Early Childhood Education Today by George S. Morrison, it states that professionalism is built upon individual responsibility, integrity, and ethical practices that demonstrate respect for all children and their families. There are four concepts of professionalism which include, personal characteristics, educational attainment, professional practice, and public presentation. There are a variety of key components that contribute to professionalism in a classroom and we are going to discuss many of those today.
Jesse lives downtown, in the inner city. She attends the local public school and struggles through her classes. Her mother would like to send her to a private school, where there is less violence and a calmer atmosphere, but cannot afford it.
Public Law 94-142: The Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975, now called Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), requires states to provide free, appropriate public education (FAPE) for every child regardless of disability. This federal law was the first to clearly define the rights of disabled children to receive special education services if their disability affects their educational performance. A parent of a special education student also has basic rights under IDEA including the right to have their child evaluated by the school district and to be included when the school district meets about the child or makes decisions about his or her education. If a child is identified as in need of special education services, the school district must devise a written individual education program (IEP) for the child, which includes related services. An IEP is a statement of a student’s special education and related services including speech services, psychological services, physical and occupational therapy, counseling and assistive technology and transportation. In addition, this legally binding, individualized plan outlines reasonable educational goals for the student and is reviewed and updated yearly.
In light of my School Experience (SE), I will be analysing, discussing and evaluating an aspect of classroom practice. The practice that I have chosen is ‘Behaviour Management’. Behaviour management plays a key role within the classroom and there are a number of techniques used by teachers on a day to day basis. I will look at these techniques in detail, analysing and evaluating them with the work of behaviour management authors and also taking into account my SE observations.

...eam of becoming a business professor. I am so passionate about the opportunity to build up tomorrow’s leaders and to contribute to the growth of business theory and practice. Teaching and training of the next generation business leaders is one of the most fascinating roles a business professor could hope to achieve. Furthermore, an accounting professor would engage in research that enhances business thinking and practice. The classroom setting offers the chance to introduce and test what was uncovered in research and learn from the discussions that ensue in class. The class discussions, I believe, would help the reevaluation of the assumptions and conclusions and to further sharpen the focus of the research.
My first goal is to continue my education by earning a Master’s degree in Accounting right after completing my bachelor’s degree. The MSU’s Accounting program attracts me for both its reputation and its career opportunities available for international students. It is my responsibility as a future accountant to be really familiar and proficient at the tools accountants use regularly. Achieving my master’s degree will also help me achieving my second goal of becoming a CPA by meeting the requirement of curriculum. Thus, I am professionally and academically motivated to earn a Master’s degree of Accounting at the Broad Business College.
First and foremost, the world-class accounting scholars, including distinguished accounting historian Stephen A. Zeff- a member of The Accounting Hall of Fame, attract me. Besides their outstanding academic achievement, the rigor and zeal to students also left me a deep impression, when professor Benjamin Lansford helped me to evaluate my prerequisites over email.
What does the accountant of the future need to be successful? A sturdy education that while is based on traditional accounting practices, also prepares future accountants for the plethora of changes happening in the accounting universe. Frequently, most of the institutions responsible for educating professionals fail to evolve as rapidly as the professional practice itself (Bedford et al. 4). In every way, accounting is expanding and in order for the future to have competent accountants, accounting education must expand as well. Major changes occurring in the world of accounting include the expansion of services and products, changes in competition, an increase in specialization, and an increase in and an advancement of technology. It is up to academic institutions to find proactive ways in which to prepare students for such changes. Accounting education of the future will require more breadth to cover the inevitable expansion of services and products, increased knowledge of economics, marketing, management and information systems to increase competitive advantage, a balanced course load that provides a general accounting knowledge as well as increased knowledge of a specialization, and also a greater, proactive focus on the use of continuously advancing accounting technologies (Bedford et al. 8). Also in play is the chance of change in accounting standards, the move from US GAAP to IFRS. While there are no certainties surrounding the threat of such change, students in the U.S. should acquire at least a general, basic feel for the practices used in regards to IFRS. The future health of the accounting profession depends, to a great extent, on the health of our students (Gormon and Hargadon 4). There are several different models of classroom management, but there appears to be no collective agreement as to which one is the best. Because every student is different, students’ behavior should be addressed according to their specific need. Disruptive behaviors tend to be a result of a few causes. These causes tend to be either because the student is seeking attention trying to avoid failure, are angry, want to gain control of a situation, have too much unused energy, are feeling bored, or are uninformed. In studying the different methods that have been researched, I have settled on two that I would like to focus this paper, Discipline with dignity and Discipline through same side win-win strategies.
Accounting is a very important term to our modern society. It is the career for men and women who at the start have their eyes set on top positions in industry, management, government, and general business. Accounting is a basic need of every businessman, from the operator of a filling station to the government of the United States. It's so important to our society. None of the business organization can operate without is. They are there-somewhere-in every business. In small business, people use pen, ink and skill keep the records. In large business, modern accounting machines are used to operate. Men and women are directing these machines in the accounting process. Wise businessmen enter business must have some accounting knowledge.
