NDT is a testing or inspecting of materials and components without damaging and destroying the whole structure or parts that means the material, that will be tested, will not be effected after NDT test. Nowadays, NDT is used in manufacturing and in-service inspections workshops to ensure the product probity, quality and lower production costs. For example, during fabrication NDT is used to check the quality of material structure and welding joints, and in-service inspections NDT are used for the products or full assembly to be sure that products are useful and safe for the public. LPT is used for non-ferromagnetic materials unlike magnetic test. To proceed the LPT, the part, that will be tested, should be cleaned and wait minimum 5 minutes to evaporate. Then, spray the liquid penetrant on the interested part and wait for 20 minutes that time is called dwell time. Finally, re-clean the part and wait to dry and the spray the developer on the part. The inspection should be after 10 minutes of spraying the developer because the liquid penetrant reaction takes time with the developer. 5.4 Magnetic Particle Test (MPT) Magnetic particle test (MPT) is on technic of NDT which is used to detect the defects usually on welded, rolled and forged materials. Also, MPT is used for ferromagnetic materials. However, the magnetic particles shall be put on the material before starting runs the magnetization device to be ensure that the magnetic particles are separated, but before that the surface shall be cleaned by chemicals from dust, weld spatter or weld flux within three inches in each side.
