Digital Forensics Analyst
According to Study.com, a digital forensic analysts is someone who collects information from digital devices as part of legal investigation. Computer forensics analysts combine their computer science background with their forensic skills to recover information from storages devices and computers. The analysts are responsible to assisting the law enforcement officers with cyber crimes and they also retrieve evidence that way. Computer forensic analysts usually hold a bachelors in computer science with a background in criminal justice. Some other things that they need to have is to be Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) certificate according to Study.com.

They use their technical skills to hunt for files and information that have been hidden, deleted or lost. They also help detectives and other officials analyze data and evaluate its relevance to the case under investigation (Study.com). Analysts also transfer the evidence into a format that can be used for legal purposes like criminal trials and often testify in court themselves. The website, Study.com, says that there are many analysts that have to be familiar with standard computer operating systems, networks and hardware as well as security software and document-creation applications. In the website, Study.com, says that the analysts must have expertise in hacking and intrusion techniques as well as prior experiences with security testing and computer system diagnostics. Cyber Degree also says that the analysts prepare evidence for trial, give expert counsel to attorneys about electronic evidence in a case, advise law enforcement on the credibility of acquired data, provide expert testimony at court proceedings, train law enforcement officers on computer evidence procedures, keep alongside emerging technologies, software and methodologies, stay proficient in forensic, response and reverse engineering skills. A polygraph examiner must have at least a bachelor’s degree. It does not have to be in any specific course of study but, it is highly recommended that your degree is one of four degrees. The four preferred degrees are criminal justice, forensic science, criminology, and forensic psychology. Another degree that will work is one in communications. Although there are other employers that hire criminal profilers, the FBI is the most prominent. In order to be considered as a potential member of these programs, having an advanced degree in behavioral or forensic science is recommended. However, the most important qualification is an agent’s overall experience as an investigator of violent crimes. John Douglas, a famous FBI profiler, believes that “degrees and academic knowledge [are] not nearly as important as experience and certain subjective qualities” (Muller 250).
Major Crime Scene Forensic Investigation Processing and analyzing crime scenes is a given responsibility to Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) where investigators must collect, preserve, examine, and present evidence -whether it's physical, trace, biological, or drug evidence. During many years of practicing digital forensics with often seen how difficult it is for legal practitioners, who often have limited time, to get to grips with the complexities of electronic evidence. Not only do many lack a strong background in technology, but it is also a field that is changing at an extremely fast pace.
The education level chosen depends on what kind of forensic job you are interested in and what salary you are going for. Most entry-level forensic positions require a bachelor’s degree in forensic or natural science (see Anne 1996). Undergraduate programs consist of toxicology, biochemistry, and criminal justice classes. The American Academy of Forensic Sciences also recommends English classes. This is because forensic scientists need very honed written and oral communication capabilities to write detailed reports and testify to physical evidence in court.
