With the advancements in technology (smart devices), consumers are no longer limited to papers coupons. A simple search (via the internet, or downloaded smart phone apps) has eliminated the once long-limited wait for a Sunday paper or a monthly flyer. Consumers enjoy being able to conveniently search for deals and coupons for their favorite brands and stores (grocery coupons being the most popular). In 2013, Retail Me Not stated, “Coupon usage is ubiquitous. Revealing that 93% of Americans shop with coupons with 29% using mobile coupons (Lesonsky, R., 2016)”. 91% of coupon redeemers stated they will purchase from the retailer (offering digital couponing) again. It is smart business to adopt digital couponing due to its high demand and allows for businesses to stay competitive. For a brand to create a successful digital couponing campaign marketing strategies such as advertising, coupon promotion, visual appeal, and technology should be considered.
Marketers understand the main form of mass selling is advertising (any paid form of nonpersonal presentation of ideas, goods, or services by an identified sponsor) (Perreault, W.D., Cannon, J., and McCarthy, E.J., 2014, p. 38). Over the last several year’s cyberspace technology

Offline redemption of coupons is customer‐initiated while Internet shoppers are usually prompted to enter a code towards the conclusion of the checkout process. This prompting may influence shopper perceptions and behaviors such as shopping cart abandonment. Results showed strong negative effects on price fairness, satisfaction, and purchase completion in the code‐absent group and positive effects on fairness and satisfaction in the code‐present group. Pointing Marketers in the direction of effective market segmentation by use online coupon codes
The average American spends $151 a week on groceries; adding up to $604 a month which is taken out of the hard earned pay check of the household. It is not a mystery why shoppers would want to use coupons to attempt to bring down this cost. Efficient shoppers understand the value of spending the time to meticulously plan each trip to the grocery store to fit in as many coupons as possible. Joanie Demer quit her job in order to spend her time maximizing the benefits from couponing. When couponing, the best way to save is doubling up the coupons to utilize the voucher to its fullest extent; extreme couponers will hoard several copies of a newspaper or magazine in order to stock up on the coupons so they can double up and have enough for the overstock they need to hold over until the next sale on that product. Jamie VanSicker gathered 185 copies of the Sunday paper in order to save big on the deals at her local grocery store, sadly to find out the paper didn’t have any coupons to clip. Religiously sticking to couponing may not be the healthiest choice, there are not many coupons are available for meat or produce, but the saving are worth the products given up. Couponing can create a few problems but overall takes the stress off the women when they know they have saved usually at least $15 off their total bill.
This case involves a patient, Dixon, who suffered irreversible brain damage because a code cart was not properly stocked. The medical team had to intubate her in order for her to be placed on a ventilator. Once she was stabilized, it was determined by her physician to begin the weaning process and have the patient extubated. Following the extubation, the respiratory therapist felt that it was in the best interest for Dixon to continue to receive oxygen support through a mask; however, there was not one available in ICU so he went to another unit to obtain one. Upon returning, the patient was not breathing appropriately and another code was called which required her to be immediately reintubated.

-the potential of Loyalty Programs to coerce consumers rational behaviour is put into question. Rational Choice theory provides a compelling argument which claims that numerous reward facilities genuinely strive to satisfy the consumer’s needs in full. Experiments support the statement listing the variety of benefits enjoyed by the program’s members, who prove to be rational in choosing one or more reward schemes looking after their satisfaction first. Loyalty programs appear to hold a firm position in the market, maintaining the balance between their designer’s goals and benefits provided to the consumers.
“Good luck, Honey!” my husband told me as I was leaving home on a Sunday night. This was unusual for me, but that was the only time I could find to do this. I was dressed in all black and wearing a cap with a big bib to hide my face. I was on a mission.
I had to find ways where my mom could save money and that's when coupons became a big part when we go shopping for essentials. It's a way where she could save money and have a little extra to spend on herself, my sibling and

The Information revolution is changing our daily lives. With the rapid development of computers and the internet, online commerce has become quite common and plays an important role in the modern world. Online business has been booming in recent years. US online retail sales rose an average of 11% in the first three months of 2009 (“US Online Sales Up,” 2009). The growth of online sales may be due to the growing number of consumers who shop online.
Going to the mall is like being at a zoo. Herds of inconsiderate teenagers crowd the walkways, girls fight over the best pair of shoes, and the merchandise is thrown all over the place. Imagine being able to have a stress free day of shopping without annoying kids running around and the ease of looking at perfect displays that have not been touched by the grimy hands of children. If you could eliminate the younger population from the mall, shopping would be much easier for everyone. Parents can enjoy their day out, girls-day won’t be interrupted by kids running a muck in the store, the employees jobs will be easier by not having to fix the displays that were messed up by children, and the amount of merchandise stolen will decrease if the younger population sticks to online shopping! Digital marketers must keep up-to-date with the consumers preference, trends and needs, in order to meet these needs and to be able to remain competitive in the market . The connectivity created by digital media leads to enhanced product benefits such as online games and applications (Pride & Ferell, 2014). However, the use of the internet to sell products could be a disadvantage to the business since the goods being sold are intangible, the consumer could research and find reviews describing a product as low quality which could result in sale losses (Brand Driven Digital, 2013).
