Digital Cash Can Never Work
The continued growth of the Internet and the World Wide Web is making a means of secure, on-line monetary transfers a necessity. This growth requires that companies and individuals be able to transact business safely across Cyberspace. Without incentive, in the form of increased revenues, businesses and individuals will lack the financial incentive to continue investing in the Internet. Without continued investment, the Internet will never reach its potential to dramatically change, and hopefully improve, the way that we live our lives. Fortunately, the push for digital cash is already underway. The only question is, regardless of whichever of these payment systems succeeds, will the transaction be truly anonymous or not? [FN1]
The major concern of those opposed to non-anonymous digital cash is a loss of privacy. This is a legitimate concern, although exaggerated by fear of a "Big Brother" type state. The spending of cash has never been anonymous. A cash transaction, whether it be at a store, with a vendor, or just on the street, always involves two parties. In all of these transactions the payee and the payer meet face to face as the cash is exchanged. The privacy that people feel during these types of cash transactions stems, not from cash being a truly anonymous payment system, but from the anonymity of society itself. In a society built of large metropolises, anonymity is achieved by not knowing everybody else rather than not being able to find out who they are. If someone tries to pass off counterfeit money to a shopkeeper, regardless of that individuals anonymity because the shopkeeper doesn’t know them, the shopkeeper has the recourse of calling the police and being able to give a descript...

Our speaker seems a solemn individual. One, whom explores a city alone and by night, a favorable past time for anybody who does not want to be bothered. Yet, as evidenced in the form of the poem, our speaker seems to feel a spark of excitement when human interaction becomes a possibility within our story. However, it seems that our poet, Robert Frost, displays an uncanny knack for misdirection throughout the entirety of this poem, and unless we meticulously pick this poem apart, we may miss the real meaning behind Frost 's words. Case in point: At first glance, this poem, about a lonely individual, appears to focus on their desire for human companionship, but, just perhaps, our speaker is actually loath to admit his true feelings, that companionship is what they desire the least.
The Efficient Market Hypothesis suggests that market prices fully reflect all information available to the public. However, practitioners and regulator are uncertain as to the validity of this hypothesis. The questions that Bloomfield raises are: If market prices truly reflect information, why do investors waste efforts by trying to identify mispriced stock prices? Why do managers try to hide bad news in footnotes? And why do regulators try to prevent them from doing this? Robert J. Bloomfield presents an alternative to EMH called the Incomplete Revelation Hypotheses. IRH suggests that statistical data which is more costly drives fewer trading interest. Therefore information that is more costly to extract from publicly available information is not fully reflected in the market prices.

In the end, no matter what the pros and cons of a cashless society are, it will be inevitable. Technology is on the rise, and everything that was once good must come to an end. The transformation is already in process because most Americas have a mix of “paper” and “plastic” in their wallets, many
Feelings of isolated darkness are something everyone is acquainted with sometime in their life, no matter how drastic the situation is, everyone experiences dark struggles. In the poem, “Acquainted With the Night,” Robert Frost illuminates how difficult, lonely hardships affects people. In “Acquainted With the Night,” a man, or the speaker, is on a night walk, pondering his life. Everywhere he walks, he feels disclosed from everything and everyone around him. The speaker in “Acquainted With the Night,” is an average person describing his personal numerous miseries. Because of these hardships, he feels lonely and detached from his life, yet he knows that time must go on and he must carry his struggles with him. During his walk, the speaker
The poem "Acquainted with the night" by Robert Frost is about a man who is walking through a city at night. However, when analyzing the figurative language used in the poem, such as the extended metaphors and symbolism, it becomes dear that the poem is about the narrator's melacholy and sense of isolation. The narrator is aquainted with the darkness of the soul as much as the night. Frost also uses personification to show how the poem has a human ability.

Over the years the student decided to take off, their learning process will not be the same. Everything that they had learned in high school may start to be forgotten. Trying to relearn all of that will be harder because these students have not seen the material in a while and will have to relearn it all again. It is a lot easier to go straight from high school to college because it is all fresh in your mind. There are many major universities that think a gap year is the best thing for the students. For example, in Danielle Wood’s article from Today, she said “Princeton encourages it. Harvard’s a big fan. From Tufts to MIT, some the most prestigious universities in the nation are urging student...

Over the last ten years people in the United State and around the world have heavily relied more on their debit or credit cards to process transactions of their purchases. In the old days it used to be when you would get your paycheck on Friday and rush to the bank during your break or lunch in order to cash withdraw your funds or deposit them into your account. It used to be where you carry cash to buy groceries, pay bills, and go shopping. Now some people don’t even set foot inside their bank branch because they are paid using direct deposit or the funds are loaded into a debit card provided by their employer. Many employers from around the globe don’t even issue paper check anymore. Bills are often times paid online, babysitters are accepting electronic payment such as PayPal and even food trucks now take electronic payments. According to a Washington Post column by Michelle Singletary society and businesses embrace using cashless ways to pay for things than the old time traditional “cold hard cash”. In my opinion there should still be cash circulating out in the world. My first ...

Chat rooms, net forums, and even the spam mails most people get u...
