Él fue patrocinado para continuar estudios en Europa por Teodoro A. Through the study of the Peruvian society using articles like “The “Problem of the Indian...” and the Problem of the Land” by Jose Carlos Mariátegui and the Peruvian film La Boca del Lobo directed by Francisco Lombardi, it is learned that the identity of Peru is expressed through the Spanish descendants that live in cities or urban areas of Peru. In his essay, Mariátegui expresses that the creation of modern Peru was due to the tenure system in Peru and its Indigenous population. With the analyzation of La Boca del Lobo we will describe the native identity in Peru due to the Spanish treatment of Indians, power in the tenure system of Peru, the Indian Problem expressed by Mariátegui, and the implementation of Benedict Andersons “Imagined Communities”.
We made our way through the animal exhibits, which is wonderful, but what really caught my eye was the Diego Rivera Lithograph Boy and Dog it was done in 1932, Rivera Native American style resonates with me. The shading and shadow blend seamlessly Boy and Dog is playful and joyful which harkens back to a simpler time. In addition to the Rivera’s Lithograph is the Rivera Court the Fresco is amazing and captivating I didn’t want to leave and spent most of my time. The Fresco was a “tribute to cities manufacturing base and labor force of the 1930’s; Rivera completed the twenty seven panel work in eleven months.”It is considere...
Pablo Picasso is one of the most famous and well-documented artists of the twentieth century. Picasso, unlike most painters, is even more special because he did not confine himself to canvas, but also produced sculpture, poetry, and ceramics in profusion. Although much is known about this genius, there is still a lust after more knowledge concerning Picasso, his life and the creative forces that motivated him. This information can be obtained only through a careful study of the events that played out during his lifetime and the ways in which they manifested themselves in his creations (Penrose).
Pablo Picasso is the worlds most renowned artist of the 20th century. He did a variety of skills related to the world of art. Most people remember him as just a painter, but he was more than that. “To be an artist, one must . . . never shirk from the truth as he understands it, never withdraw from life,” said Diego Rivera, a Mexican muralist. He followed his own words by creating the Rivera Court. Consisting of twenty seven panels and taking eleven months to complete, the Rivera Court, currently held in the DIA, is arguably the best Mexican mural in the United States. Throughout his life, all his works had a deeper and more important meaning. In fact, his paintings were thought to be capable of telling stories. ...le artists include Mariscal, Guillermo Perez-Villalta, and the artist duo La Costus. An unconventional but wildly popular artist of La Movida was the graffiti artist Juan Carlos Argüello, usually known by his tag, “Muelle”. He painted his tag all over Madrid and became extremely well-known. Once as he was driving away after painting his tag a police officer pulled him over. After asking him if he had painted the tag, the officer just asked for Muelle’s autograph! Another personality was Francisco Umbral, a writer for the periodical El País.

At the age of two his twin brother died and a year later Diego Rivera started drawing, his parents caught him drawing on walls and instead of punishing him nurtured his artistic side by enabling him with the supplies he needed. Throughout his life Diego Rivera was dedicated to art, “He began to study painting at an early age and in 1907 moved to Europe. Spending most of the next fourteen years in Paris, Rivera encountered the works of such great masters as Cézanne, Gauguin, Renoir, and Matisse.” Influenced by the work of such great minds Rivera began the search for his own signature and contribution to modern art, “Rivera was searching for a new form of painting, one that could express the complexities of his day and still reach a wide audience.” Rivera found the medium he was looking for, a form of street art involving murals painted on fresh plaster, he returned to Mexico to introduce this new form of art to the public. Rivera soon sewed himself into the art community in America, “His outgoing personality puts him at ...

Although Diego Rivera was a Mexican painter, influenced much by his historical roots in Mexico, his contributions to American society throughout the first half of the twentieth century were great. Rivera wanted his art to influence the world enough to change it (Howlett 20). During an era of revolutions in both politics and technology, Rivera was one of the many inspired to create work that was socially radical at the time (Stevens 72). His views of support for Communism, his outlook on Capitalism, and his portrayals of the industrial revolution around the world caught the attention and eyes of entire nations. “Rivera’s work seemed like it was leading directly to today’s cultural wars” (Aguilar 36).
