Recommended: Effect of foster care on children

“Entrepreneurship is the pursuit of opportunity without regard to resources currently controlled.” The social entrepreneurial issue I have chosen to discuss is foster care. The issue is that children who cannot be safely taken care of by their parents or guardians need a safe place to live. The opportunity is to create an organization that will help connect foster children with a perfect match for a safe home. Children have always held a very special place in my heart, and while I know that it is impossible for me personally, to provide a safe home for each and every one of these children, through the development of such an organization, foster children would have a greater opportunity to be matched with a perfect foster home in a time …show more content…

“A non-profit does not operate in an effort to build wealth or revenue for the benefit of the owner, directors or shareholders. The main goal of a non-profit is to generate funds and volunteer assistance to help further its chosen cause. A non-profit organization can also act as a publicity vehicle to bring more attention to an issue in the community” (http://smallbusiness.chron.com/benefits-non-profit-organizations-4162.html). With this, as a non-profit corporation I can rely on capital through donations and will fully recognize that the profits are not for private gain rather they will be used for the sole mission and purpose of finding a safe home for foster children. A Family for Every Child is a local non-profit organization of Lane County, which seeks to find a “forever home” for these special children, and I look up to this organization for its success in finding safe homes for foster children. This organization is truly an inspiration for my desire to create my own organization that contributes to the need for foster families and placing children with the perfect match for a safe …show more content…

My view of a typical day would involve working with colleagues to produce and improve practices within the workplace. More importantly, the quality and significance that the creation of this organization would play in today’s society would be a dream come true.
