The greater the power, the more dangerous the abuse.” (Edmund Burke) Macbeth was a story of a brave general from Scotland that received a message from three witches that one day he would become the king of Scotland. Macbeth believed the message and with the support of his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the kingdom for himself. Due to him killing the king he feel guilty and goes crazy. In order for no one to find out what he did, he ends up killing many in order to keep his power. His actions cause a civil war and lead both him and his wife into craziness and eventually death. In Shakespeare’s play “Macbeth”, it was evident that power in the wrong hands can lead to destruction.
