The Adobe web site main page is divided by sections. On the top left of the page, one can find seven tabs which includes: products, solutions, learning, help, downloads, company and store; with just a click on each tab, you can access more detailed information. On the top right of the page, you can easily find a “search” engine, my adobe, my orders, my cart and a sign in link to returned customers. On the middle of the page, you will see a big advertise featuring one of the new products from Adobe; on this case, the site is introducing the “Adobe touch Apps”. The bottom of the page is also divided in four different sections: learning, help, download and products and solutions. Each of these sections is a short cut to access the information in a quick and easy way.

According to Gurak and Lannon, “Chunking is an organizing technique in which you divide the information into small units or modules based on the topics or type of information that will be covered in a given section” (Gurak and Lannon, 2007, p.47). The Adobe site shows a good example of “chucking” organizing technique. After clicking on the “download” tab at the main page, I was directed to the page that shows the products available for download. There are twelve products well displayed on the page, which I assumed that are the most popular products.

The products are organized in two columns with six products in each column. In addition, the name of the product is on the right side of each square and has a link “Buy/ Try/Learn more” that only appears when you pass the mouse over the name of the product.

In order to have the site more organized for vision impairment users, I would recommend the use of more dark colors and change some of the font size or style to distinct the main content area from the other links; based on Aditi’s article, “you can generally assume that they will see less contrast between colors than you will. If you lighten the light colors and darken the dark colors in your design, you will increase its visual accessibility” (Aditi, 2011).
