FRAMED ARCHITECTURE
According to the oxford dictionary, the word ‘architecture’ means ‘the design and structure of a building’. But I as an aspiring architect have a different vision towards the word architecture. Architecture is not only the beauty and design but also that small element that gives life to a building and makes it work according to our daily needs. When one talks to an architect about a building, he/she would talk about it like a creation of their own or another’s. But when spoken to a commoner, he would refer a building to 4 walls that protects him in luxury and beauty.
Last week, I was walking on St. Marks Road, Bangalore. When I was crossing the State Bank of India compound, I saw big banners heralding “SBI Home Loan Utsav-12th & 13th August, 2017”. The event was sponsored by top brands of developers like Puravankara, Shoba Developers, Credai, Prestige group, Brigade, Larsen & Turbo, Gopalan Enterprises etc., to name a few.
The main aspect of this exhibition was to promote SBI’s new scheme of providing loan to buy properties or houses from the developers. I took a stroll around this exhibition out of curiosity. Each of the developer’s had their own

This shows the bad design of the mall without considering the safety for the mall visitors and their wards. Well after that sad event, the mall authorities have taken steps to spread nets at different floor levels in the open well which in my opinion is still only a temporary solution. The negative aspect in my opinion is that the nets do not gel with the existing architectural feature with which the mall was initially designed. Secondly there are still chances of children climbing the parapet of the well and attempting to jump enthused because of movies like Spiderman, Superman etc,. the very fall may result in a shock and fatality
According to Lee W. Waldrep (2010), author of the book Becoming an Architect: A Guide to Careers in Design, an architect is an imaginative person who designs a wide spectrum of structures for buildings (Waldrep, 2010, p 2). These structures must meet safety requirements in addition to being aesthetically pleasing. Architects must compete with other architects to attract clients by presenting designs. This process generally rests on building a good reputation as an architect. Because of the nature and the large amounts of time spent on designing, architects must work long hours when their skill is required during different stages of construction.

Simon Unwin, the author of the book ‘Analysing Architecture’ says that the ‘the purpose of architecture is to design buildings’ is an unsatisfactory definition because the definition limits architecture to just the design of buildings. He feels that architecture involves more than just designing buildings. He also believes that the definition fails to explain the real purpose of architecture and transfers the problem of comprehending the word ‘architecture’ to the word ‘building’. This definition doesn’t go in-depth to analyze and understand the essence of architecture in our everyday lives. It fails to relate human life and needs to the buildings built.

Buildings, like individuals, are embellished distinctively, making some look excellent and critical and others plain and customary. Each building has an exceptional history. Like individuals, buildings age and change with the times. A few buildings are offered "surgery" to restore them to their unique state; others buildings "kick the bucket" from disregard, mis chances and ailment. An alternate probability is that a building of one style might later experience a significant conversion into the style of an alternate time period, making it look fully changed. The architecture of the United States has comprised of a wide assortment of styles all around its history. Home styles in the U.S. are locally assorted and the shapes they have assumed have been affected by numerous different sorts of architecture. The outcome is a varied blend of distinctive home styles that can frequently be found inside the same neighborhood, even on the same road or square of that road.
Naples is a very unique city that attracts people from all over the world to its beautiful surroundings. Amongst the pristine beaches and championship golf courses, a teenager can find many entertaining locations. One such area can be found in downtown Naples on Fifth Avenue. Along this stretch of road near the beach lies a vast array of shops, cafes, restaurants, and other establishments. I often find myself spending many nights on Fifth Avenue, walking along the tree-lined streets or sitting in one of the numerous cafés or restaurants.
A manifesto by definition is “a declaration of policy and aims” so taken from this description, an architectural manifesto would be the ideas of the architect. The new project for history is to come up with our own Manifesto, before one can do this, research needs to be done and examples must be looked at. So this essay will look at the process of creating a manifesto and the essay will also discuss other architectural manifestos which were used as inspiration for me to create my own manifesto.
Interior design is a complicated profession. It is sometimes referred to as interior architecture and often confused with interior decorating. It involves the design, organization and planning of an interior structure rather than just refinishing and furnishing existing interior spaces. It involves managing a business, hopefully meeting the desires of the client and delivering to them an interior environment that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. There is a lot more to interior design than first meets the eye.
Every person with a job, no matter what occupation, makes an impact on society in some way, shape, or form. Some people leave their legacy by defending people in court, some saving lives in a hospital, and others planning and building works of construction. These planners have a large-scale effect on everybody in society and have an eye for detail, as well as enjoy using mathematics to ensure proper construction. That is why I have chosen architecture to be my career. An architect is a person who designs buildings and supervises their construction. A broader view of an architect is a person who is responsible for inventing or realizing a particular idea or project. Architecture varies from the pillars of the Greek Parthenon, to peoples’ homes. I often find myself marveling over the design of large-scale building projects such as the skyscrapers of New York City. Most of these buildings belong to a myriad of well-known companies such as Chase and Toshiba. That is why I have particularly chosen to become a commercial architect.
Over the last four years of studying architecture, I have seen the power that it has to shape communities, shape lives, and to create new ways that people interact with each other. The way architecture can help enhance living and allow for creation of new interactions of people is one of the reasons I find the subject so interesting. The way architecture can shape a whole culture and the way that the culture then in turn shapes the architecture is fascinating to me. Architecture is also not a static subject, it is constantly evolving and adapting with time to take on new forms, create new spaces, and to provide commentary on the history of our time on Earth. The depth that architecture has, and the evolution of the subject is something I have fallen in love with through my study of it. However, when I first started out studying architecture, I had no idea of the depth that the subject had, and it was an incredibly daunting realization; however, it was as equally exciting. I have always had a love for learning and architecture has just fueled that fire. Even after completing my bachelors degree, the learning has not stopped. I get to learn something new about architecture daily, and getting to say that is an opportunity I am thankful to have. It is not just about the learning however, its
Behind every architectural work there is an architect, whether the architect is one man or woman, a small group, or an entire people. The structure created by any of these architects conveys a message about the architect: their culture, their identity, their struggles. Because of the human element architects offer to their work not just a building is made, but a work of art, a symbol of a people, a representation, is also created.
