Deploying Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is a model which enables an expedient and on demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources. These include networks, servers, storage applications and services which can easily be available with little managerial effort or the interaction of the service provider. The authors of this article seek to identify the critical factors which are needed in order to effectively deploy cloud computing, this was done by looking at key insights which could have an impact n the deployment of cloud computing. (Garrison, Sanghyun, & Wakefield, 2012).
There are three standard service models: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). IaaS is when the cloud providers supply the servers, storage and connectivity domains and charge the clients based on their usage. The PaaS model is when the vendor provides the platform which allows the organization the ability to access applications and services through the Internet. This enables the organization to have a well tested application-hosting environment without having the responsibility and expenses of procuring, deploying and managing the infrastructure. The SaaS model is when the cloud provider has full control over the application, which includes all the relevant competence, updates and maintenance.
To deliver these models three methods which can be utilized are: public cloud, private cloud and the hybrid cloud. The difference among these are that the public cloud providers is accessible to any customer, while the private cloud model is when the organization has exclusive use of an isolated cloud. ...ess strategy. This research will also aid the industry as it clearly outlines the importance of trust in pursuing a cloud service provider. In implementing the cloud service any industry practitioner should be able to assess if the cloud strategy implemented is in the company’s best interest of the company as well as looking at the collaboration and assurance between the company and vendor; this can all be done by using the trust factor to carry out the evaluation.
