Some teenagers claim they are in love even though they are in the seventh grade. They most likely just met and automatically assume they are in love with each other. They claim that holding hands, cuddling, and kissing explain that their so called “love” is real. They claim that going to the movies with their parents is real (even though they don’t sit near each other). But in reality, it’s not. It ends up with the teenager no talking to each other and rumors going around about their breakup. Young love is beyond dangerous due to, the depression stage in the end, family issues, and violence it can lead to.
Depression…a condition of general emotional sadness and removal is very dangerous. Young love can lead many teens into this dark stage of their life. Young love is extremely dangerous. “Kids don’t really have a sense of working to preserve a relationship… adolescence is a time for experimentation.” Said Connolly. Teenagers don’t truly understand the meaning of love. They don’t understand the dangers it can lead to. They could end up dead because of depression issues, or their families’ won’t accept them for who they are anymore, or they can take great risks which would lead to social problems. Teenagers shouldn’t automatically assume they are in love. They should wait until an age where they truly understand the meaning of love- a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
