Physical endurance is next and it is not the last one. There are many great qualities to become a nurse. By physical endurance, it is defined to being healthy and staying energized. The largest nursing specialty in the United States are the medical surgical nurses. In medical surgical nurses they receive many task. They care for the patients but they have to administer the medications, inform the family on any information, discharge patients and etc (“ What is Medical-Surgical Nursing”). Travel nurses can also receive the same task as the med-surg nurses if they have the qualifications and the certifications. In order to be a med-surg nurse you need to receive a Bachelor’s Degree, a MSN Degree and a PHD or DNP. These nurses spend most of their time with laboring mothers and forming a new family in their care. They encourage and give out advices to the mothers when they are having contractions. They take care of two patients, the mother and the baby. They need to stay monitoring the mother’s vital signs and the baby’s heart rate and they also assist physicians or midwives with the delivery. Labor and delivery nurses are unique since they care for an infant and the mother. Also, they are trained to assist with surgery if any case it is a cesarean delivery (“Labor and Delivery Nurse”). Certifications you will need is having a bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree, must pass the NCLEX-RN and the Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) exam. This exam is only if you want to make your name in labor and delivery (“How to Become a Labor and Delivery Nurse”). There are many more different types of nurses that help the public out. Many of these nurses have the same responsibilities and also have the same qualities to becoming a nurse. Many of them are unique such as the labor and delivery nurse or the hospice nurse. It also depends where they work at. Different places could have different boundaries, but they all have something in common.
