Since the history of humanity, fear has been an involuntary reaction of the human being. It’s one of the most primitive feelings of the species; fear is the most common reagent for each person's actions. Fear drives each person to have different reactions, such as fleeing or fighting for survival. Nowadays, the human being adapts to the situations of society. These situations are such as: fear of not having a stable job or not having certain expectations set by society. These expectations vary between being fit and meeting certain physical, emotional or economic characteristics to fit into a social group. When you are in a dangerous situation the body releases various hormones such as adrenaline. This hormone subjects the body to a tension in which it urges it to react faster. The result of that leads the body and mind into some stress. The fear is so present in the human being that in my opinion it is the strongest form of motivation that there is for the realization of actions. Fear is a primal instinct that helps humankind survive as a species or as an individual. It’s such a powerful emotion that can unite people and create a motivation so big that can change life completely. It’s in our most vivid memories even from early ages. Fear can vary to different situations, such as “fear of pain disease, injury and failure and not being accepted” (Wilson, R. (2009, September 23.)). Although fear can motivate it also can paralyze. The amount of fear implemented in the situation can vary the outcome of the actions. If you can control this emotion and overcome it you can achieve your goal you should determine the situation and analyze for this emotion to act as a motivator. The motivation around certain consequences of some actions can create a more effective behavior or productivity. This technique is used in the workplace by some companies as a last resort when the management fails to create initiative on their employees and when incentive motivation fails. Large companies try to incorporate a more understanding and comfortable environment in the workplace but when everything fails they use fear as a motivator. The consequences can be from lowering their paychecks to firing the worker. This technique benefits the company, according to Andy Core in where “If the consequences are strong enough they can motivate the employees to achieve goals.
