Would you like to be friends? Many people would easily answer that question with a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ without even thinking. But what is a friend? And what exactly does it mean to be friends? According to merriam-webster.com, the primary definition of a friend is “one attached to another by affection or esteem.” The meaning of the word friend has changed slightly over the hundreds of years it has been used, but definitions like the one offered by Merriam Webster are accepted by most of society today.
