What is happiness? What does it really mean? There can be many definitions on the word happiness, because happiness means different things to every person. Many people seek happiness in different places, happiness can be every ware but some people can’t seem to find it or express it. Like some people find happiness in love, family and having children. I feel that happiness comes from the heart people really need to know how to experience it and know the feelings too. Also love can create happiness. We need someone to love and be loved as well. Mostly all people that loves someone can feel happy and secure about themselves; someone that can make you simile and make you laugh can make someone really happy. We need to have a purpose to be loved we need to have connections and be surrounded by family and the people we mostly care about the most. Well for me are my daughters and my family they are the ones that fills my heart with happiness. Stating with my two daughters they are the most important things in my life without them I wouldn't know what happiness is all about. Knowing that my daughters have everything that they need makes me happy as a parent. Taking care of them when they sick knowing that mom is always by their side knowing that they are safe makes me happy. Watching them grow and guide them to be a good person makes me a happy mom. Like I’m always there for my kids they are always there for me as well, they make me feel good when I'm down they always brighten my days when they are around. There’s no days that they can make my day miserable knowing that they are happy makes me happy. What really makes happiness? Happiness does not come from having a great mansions or all the things you want, it comes from family. Money is something we all can accomplish, but yet that does not mean it will fill our hunger for love. Most of the time we take for granted what we received through our parents hard work and never stop and think or ask to ourselves, what would be if they were not there to assist in the ways they do.
"A state of well-being and contentment", this is how the dictionary defines happiness, but what truly defines your happiness? John Stuart Mill argues that "Those who are happy, have their minds fixed on some other object than happiness..."(Mill). Mill means that happiness cannot be achieved by focusing on it, but rather can be achieved by focusing on something else. So if you were to ask yourself if you were happy, then you would cease to become happy. I believe that Mill's argument is correct and that happiness can only be achieved by not focusing on the pursuit of happiness.
