What is Tourism? Tourism is the active utilization of gateways of discovery to expand one's engagement with the world. Tourism is about experiencing the space and the place. What is space and place then? Space is merely a physical and geographical location. Space is inauthentic and generic whereas place is not. Place is somewhere emotionally and personally significant. Cultural Diversity
Diversity emerges from within, but, if we define diversity as the discernible differences among people and things, Singapore is less diverse than Malaysia. It is the little things that make the most difference. Malaysia consists of 50.4% Malaysian, 23.7% Chinese, 11% Indigenous, 7.1% Indian, and 7.8% other. Whereas in Singapore, 76.8% of the population is Chinese and 13.9% is Malaysian.
