Decision Making Strategy By examining the Baker’s Dozen list, I identified greatly with Last Minute Louie, Mia Fraid, Saint Peter Perfectus, Pollyanna A. Peazer, and Ver (“Sis”) Tematic. Through this it clear that that I make last minute decisions, I delay my decisions due to fear, I try to make the perfect decision, I try to please others with my decisions, and I consider the pros and cons of each alternative. One style I found myself not relating to at all was Willy Nilly. I do not let other people make decisions for me; however, they can have an impact on my decisions. One decision making strategy I make use of is the gathering of information before making a decision. By gathering information, I can learn what is best for me and what I can benefit from. Having ambiguity and uncertainty leads to a faulty decision or it can lead to no decision at all. The best way to combat ambiguity and uncertainty is to gather all the necessary information on the subject of interest. I try to not have any type of ambiguity or uncertainty and it is why I tend to gather information. I dislike having the feeling of uncertainty because I need to always know what is going on. I also find that having any form of uncertainty can hinder my attempt at finding a decision. Ambiguity can ultimately lead to the wrong decision. I am not comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty because I always have to be in control. Ambiguity can destroy any confidence I had on any of my choices towards a decision. I believe being uncomfortable with ambiguity can bring benefits such as better confidence and better decision making skills.
