How could two fathers fight to the point where their children take their own lives, without even realizing the pain they were causing them? This is one tragedy that takes place in the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. In the play Romeo and Juliet there are three main characters that will ultimately lead to the deaths of these two lovers. One of the primary characters who contributed to the circumstances that led to Romeo and Juliet taking their own lives was Friar Lawrence, Friar Lawrence took many actions which, ultimately, led the two lovers to take their own lives. The two other characters who impacted why they took their own lives, was their very own fathers, Lord Capulet and Lord Montague. Regarding this, the two fathers had a significant impact on their children’s lives, and had an even more significant impact on their deaths. After examining the play Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence, Lord Capulet, and Lord Montague, are to blame for the deaths of the star crossed lovers, because of their significant impacts and actions on their lives.

However if any of these characters had made decisions differently than they did, Romeo and Juliet may still be alive. By way of example, if Friar Lawrence had not made the foolish decision to marry the two they might not have had to end their own lives. Also if the two fathers, Lord Capulet, and Lord Montague, were not so filled with hate for each other, their children would not have come to such a tragic end.
