ABSTRACT
The Automated Business Service System (ABSS) was designed for the military to process documents without wasting an enormous amount of time. The original way of processing a document involved typing the document up and visiting each person to sign off on it. Not only was this time consuming but there was no historical record available if the original document was lost or destroyed. ABSS uses an Oracle database and has changed the way finance processes documents forever.
Before I worked as the systems administrator for finance I was the budget analyst. I started using the Automated Business Service System (ABSS) over eight years ago and I think it is one of the best programs the Air Force has adopted. ABSS was written by a private company and has been implemented over multiple branches of the service. When the program first came on board at my base in Germany I was appointed as the functional administrator to maintain the program. I was in charge of maintaining all user accounts and assisting the resource advisors on base with building their flows. I also had to process documents for my program through ABSS. I had to quickly learn how to use this program as well as learn how the Oracle database stored all this pertinent data.
Before the system was put online I was trained for a few days on how to start building the database and getting the system ready for implementation. I would not responsible for maintaining the actual database. We had a remote database administrator that had the capability to access the database and ensure there were no problems. The actual server was in my office but I had no access to log into it. I could log into the program from any system and make changes to the database that way. The actual integrity of the database was not part of my duties. I had to start building all the accounts for each user within the database.
There was a lot of work to be accomplished before the database went live. Every person who needed to approve a document would have an account as well as a step in the process. A user would draft and submit a document. Each users account also had there electronic mailing address linked to it. This would allow the system to generate an e-mail and the next person in line to approve the document would be able to log into the system and take the appropriate action.
It is been observed that Tegan’s A/P system was very complex and they had to pay their bill at the appropriate time. The system was been brought to its breaking point as per the Tegan’s increase in its volumes as well as vendors. The system was been blocked as per its runtime errors as well as blocked records. These lead to create problem for Tegan’s team and it’s a/p system staff and employees. Where these lead to create a major problem of Tegan’s finance as well as IT department who thought that this might create a huge issue in th...
The importance of a state of the art Management Information System cannot be overlooked. The system will not only allow management to better understand their department's contributions but also allow them to take the appropriate actions necessary to meet customer needs. The proposed system will ensure that Riordan Manufacturing, Inc. not only meets but consistently exceed its strategic and tactical goals within the global business community.
A database management system, or DBMS, gives the user access to their data and helps them transform the data into information. Such database management systems include dBase, Paradox, IMS, and Oracle. These systems allow users to create, update, and extract information from their databases. Compared to a manual filing system, the biggest advantages to a computerized database system are speed, accuracy, and accessibility.

In 1977, Larry Ellison, Bob Miner, and Ed Oates founded System Development Laboratories. After being inspired by a research paper written in 1970 by an IBM researcher titled “A Relational Model of Data for Large Shared Data Banks” they decided to build a new type of database called a relational database system. The original project on the relational database system was for the government (Central Intelligence Agency) and was dubbed ‘Oracle.’ They thought this would be appropriate because the meaning of Oracle is source of wisdom.
Today, hardware is affordable and support is abundant. With these major changes businesses are upgrading and installing complete network systems with multi-site databases and very complex Intranets. Along with the systems comes the support. The options are to have an outside firm support the system or an onsite/internal IT Department.
DBA deals with all of this by finding user needs, set the database, and test the system. DBA should enable editing any system he or she created. At the same time DBA should ensure the security of the data and guarantee data integrity and backup. Moreover, DBAs should know the database management systems (DBMS) that include the knowledge of Oracle, IBM DB2, and Microsoft SQL server (“Database Administrator,” 2010). Oracle is one of the most important platforms that DBA must know and have experience with. According to Kanaracus “The database experience we look for most of the time is Oracle”, says Tom Hart, executive vice president of the operations and technology group at Veritude. “SQL Server is more of a nice-to-have"
According to Ness and Cucuzza, "thousands of companies have adopted or explored the feasibility of adopting ABC. However, (they) estimate that no more than ten percent of companies now use activity-based management in a significant number of their operations" [11]. A survey conducted by the Institute of Management Accountants' cost management group found that only 29 percent of companies used ABC instead of traditional systems, but this was an increase from 25 percent in the previous year [10]. Among reasons cited for low adoption were employee resistance and major organizational changes required with the use of ABC [11]. Some trace the source of slow adoption of ABC to technical as well as cultural issues [5].
The team implementing the new system were required to do both functional and systematic requirements thus affecting the implementation of the new system
Big data is a concept that has been misunderstood therefore I will be writing this paper with the intentions of thoroughly discussing this technological concept and all its dimensions with regard to what constitutes big data and how the term came about. The rapid innovations in Information Technology have brought about the realisation of big data. The concept of big data is complex and has different connotations but I intend to clarify its functions. Big data refers to the concept of a collection of large and complex amounts of data that are found extremely difficult to notate or even process by most on-hand devices and database technologies.
Information system can replace the previous manual handling operations to save a lot of time and labor costs.

The Database Management System (DBMS) is software that enables the users to define, create, maintain and control the access to the database. It is a software that interact with the user’s applications programs and it database. Meanwhile, information retrieval system is a system that involved the activity that the systems obtain the information. The obtaining information action need the information from it resources.
Today, there is a range of computerised systems in the market that business can use to keep track of their finances; few of the most recognised for their performance are Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, QuickBooks, SA...
The main function of AIS is to provide information derived from the financial transactions. The daily paper record, receipts and invoice, the electronic copies, any kinds of documents could be the source of the financial transaction. The piecemeal data is hard to trace and follow. The traditional accounting information system solves this problem. It collects the information, sorting and processing, making a record and then providing it to the users who are interested in it. However, with the development of technology, the function is being improved. Under the network environment, the accounting information system trends to base on internet to realize the financial information processed electronically and automatically. The emerging functions, such as cloud computing, shadow data, giving convenience to the users via mobile devices. The non-network AIS is no longer meeting the new requirements. In current business world, innovations and improvements are needed to satisfy the varieties requests of customers under the context of multi-cultural. Companies and organizations hope to use information to help planning and solving problems. In the pwc report, the new accounting information system needs efficiency, speed, and real time information to meet the definition of excellence. Given that this is an information era. These factors need the cooperation between IT and Accounting. The system creator according to the
