Dangers of Caffeine

It is what wakes us up each day or keeps us focused. It is what drives us to go the extra mile. Caffeine is a product that is being used in all sorts of drinks ranging from colas to our early morning cup of tea. Most people whose life is always on an ever moving work pace feel it is a needed necessity to keep them going, People ranging from bcig business people to mare student. The main reason for this review is to see just how much caffeine affects the life of an average student both negative and positively and also provide a broader understanding of how it really works when we consume is as well as what it gets up to.

Literature Review:

Caffeine in its pure form is a drug that affects the nervous system, just like Amphadamines,Coccaine or Heroin stimulate the brain that has been disguised in our modern day lifestyle (Horne JA, Reiner LA (1996)).It has become a beverage that people are beginning to depend on without actually realising just what this drug gets up to. The side effects to it are said to be very dangerous with issues that range from stress to blood clots to heart attacks. Let us start with what it gets up to when it enters our bodies

Why is it that a cup of coffee in the morning helps one to wake up? Well after one takes coffee, it travels from the stomach, into the blood stream and makes its way to the brain. In the brain it lays a chemical known as Adenosine, this is the chemical in your bin that is in charge of making you sleepy. It does this by attaching itself to the nerve cells in the brain and slowing them down. Caffeine has the same molecular structure as the Adenosines the nerve cells of the brain take in this caffeine instead of the Adenosine and prevents them from slowing down the nerve cells forming...
