Dan Berkowitz is a firm believer in the transformative power of music and is dedicated to creating experiences that are equally immersive, unforgettable and seamless for his fellow diehard music lovers. He worked his way up, becoming the tour manager for The Disco Biscuits in 2004, overseeing their day-to-day operations. After leaving the road in 2006, Dan worked for Electric Factory Concerts, while laying the groundwork for what would later become CID Entertainment, creating unique travel packages and VIP experiences for marquee events in Philadelphia. In 2007, Dan left Electric Factory Concerts to focus full-time on CID Entertainment.
Daniel Felsenfeld reveals a positive, impactful significance — one that has completely changed his life — in his literacy narrative “Rebel Music” by drawing upon what his early adolescent years of music were like before his shift into a new taste for music, how this new taste of music precisely, yet strangely appealed to him, and what this new music inspired him to ultimately become. Near the beginning of his narrative, Felsenfeld described his primal time with music in Orange County, Calif. He had developed his musical skills enough to jumpstart a career around music — working in piano bars and in community theater orchestra pits. However, Felsenfeld stated that the music he worked with “... was dull, or at least had a dulling effect on me — it didn’t sparkle, or ask questions,” and that “I [he] took a lot of gigs, but at 17 I was already pretty detached” (pg. 625). Felsenfeld easily
John Williams once states, “So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it’s gratifying to have something you have done linger in people’s memories.” John Williams is an incredibly talented composer, scoring the music for over hundred famous films. Williams has left a legacy for himself that will not soon be forgotten. John Williams has lead a very interesting life. While many will argue, some of Williams best work is in the movies, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jurassic Park, and Star Wars.

When studying Physics of Music, I was interested to research the topic of sound reflection in a theatre as I work at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre and wanted to research the acoustics in a theatre. “Music is uniquely wonderful. It is incapable of being touched yet it touches everyone who is capable of hear sounds. It can seemingly evoke any emotion; we instinctively respond to happy tunes, mournful songs, beautiful melodies, inspiring anthems, stirring hymns, and majestic orchestrations.” (Doolan, Robert. 1985) There is no question that music is great part of society; it has been at civilization’s side whether it be the lyres and flutes of the ancient Greeks or how it calms or excites emotions and keeps armies in order during battle. Within society, there has also been social unrest and the desire for change. Protesting is the expression of a society’s concerns on current events of which they feel affected by whether it be through public rallies, picketing, riots or even bombings. Protest through music is one powerful medium for engaging people. Amidst what life throws at individuals, music has comforted the soul, provoked individualistic thought and opinion, and music draws people together through groups alike who have the same attachment or concerns with their surroundings. Whether it be rock, jazz, blues, rap, hip hop, dance, spiritual, or world, music has inspired artists to spill out their expression and views of society. Music is a universally effective tool of protest in generating social change and unrest as it continues to unite those with like ideas.
