Recommended: Curfews keeping teens out of trouble

Teen Curfews What is you were told somewhere in the near future your children wouldn’t be able to stay out past curfew… but not your curfew? There are many teens and adults that have been debating on whether or not teen curfews are good for their communities. There are benefits to these curfews such as teen safety and crime reduction but some believe this is targeting the wrong group of citizens. This is why curfews should not be set by governments but parents should still have the right to do so. Curfews have always been things in teen lives that drive them insane. However these curfews today are being set by the government. This is causing even bigger racial problems we have already in America today. . “Essentially what’s happening is its targeting black kids” (Nate Berg). What about children who play sports or like to stay up and practice late at night for an upcoming game. “If you keep telling kids ‘no’ all the time and don’t give them a yes part they are going to rebel.”(Martha Irvine). Teens want to know they are trusted, they want to feel like they are treated like adults. “I think that what we need is community input” (Vanessa Junkin). Talking to the communities before making big changes is very drastic. You don’t know every situation. Teens could be working to help their family with money and they don’t have rides home at night. If teens are a part of any crime there not just going to wait till night to interact, they are going to do what they want when they want. “It’s not fair.
