Teen Curfews What is you were told somewhere in the near future your children wouldn’t be able to stay out past curfew… but not your curfew? There are many teens and adults that have been debating on whether or not teen curfews are good for their communities. There are benefits to these curfews such as teen safety and crime reduction but some believe this is targeting the wrong group of citizens. This is why curfews should not be set by governments but parents should still have the right to do so. Curfews have always been things in teen lives that drive them insane. This is causing even bigger racial problems we have already in America today. . “Essentially what’s happening is its targeting black kids” (Nate Berg). What about children who play sports or like to stay up and practice late at night for an upcoming game. “If you keep telling kids ‘no’ all the time and don’t give them a yes part they are going to rebel.”(Martha Irvine). If teens are a part of any crime there not just going to wait till night to interact, they are going to do what they want when they want. “It’s not fair. They think all kids are bad, but were not” (Martha Irvine).
