Crystal meth has surpassed cocaine as the drug of choice for young people and has left a large amount of destroyed lives in its aftermath. Meth addiction runs unrestrained in America and throughout the world. Crystal meth also known as crystal methamphetamine is a highly addictive stimulant. Methamphetamine affects the centers of the brain that control judgment, control reward, and control memory. Women are more likely to use meth than cocaine. The average high from Methamphetamine lasts between four and twelve hours. Meth use increases risk of child abuse and neglect and domestic violence. Meth can be smoked, with the use of a glass pipe, injected, either dry or dissolved in water, snorted and or swallowed. Many users reported that became addicted after the first time.
The drug got its start in a reputable laboratory. Methamphetamine was widely available in the 1960’s, and was used in combat to subdue obesity, depression, daytime sleepiness, nasal congestion, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
