Mandatory school uniforms are debatable on whether they are preferred or not. Some would say to agree with uniforms, while others would disagree of them. The dispute is arguable, and both sides have well reasoning. Personally, I say that all schools should have mandatory uniforms.
School uniforms were originally used in the 1980’s in Catholic schools. Public school than began to be compared to Catholic schools, and adopted the fact of having uniforms as well. According to proponents, school uniforms are now used to, help prevent gang representation, encourage discipline, increase school pride, and diminish peer pressure or social barrier between students. This occurs too often, and the clothing would be easier if everyone just wore the same thing. In JUST a sample survey, the University of Nebraska interviewed 1000 students on if they ever encountered a situation involving their clothes. 56% of the students had said they have been. This is MORE than half of students, and it’s simply a sample survey. The number would approximately increase loads if more were surveyed.
