Saint Basil Cathedral is a beautiful and huge building and I would love to see. The Cathedral standing high with its detail in beauty is alone neat. Colorful not just with its beauty but has a colorful history as well. This is a place that one day I hope to visit and explore not just in books and on line. This building’s creator was Ivan the forth, also known as “Ivan the Terrible.” The original name is actually Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed. It is also known as Cathedral of the Intercession of the most holy Theotokos on the Moat, by the people of Russia. In English it is known as Pokrovsky Cathedral. It was constructed in 1555-1561 by Ivan the 4th. It was the city’s tallest building until the completion of Ivan the Great Bell Tower
I had the great privilege of visiting the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. I visited this Church to witness the Salutation to the Theotokos, an annual service held to honor the annunciation of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus. In this paper, I will discuss the history of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church along with a detailed description of the architecture and interior of the church. I will also explain the service I attended, Salutations to the Theotokos, and my perspective of the service. But in order to fully understand all that I must first explain, leadership within the Church and iconography.
According to St. Petersburg’s official website http://www.saint-petersburg.com, the Church was facing demolition. During World War II, St. Petersburg, then Leningrad, was under the siege for just over three years and was heavily damaged by the bombardment of Nazi Germany’s Luftwaffe. The damage from World War II can still be seen on the Church’s walls. After the war, the Small Opera House used the church as a warehouse. The website states “The valuable shrine was almost completely destroyed”.
The Salisbury Cathedral is one of a kind. It is still standing after hundreds of years. I just recently just saw the beautiful building while flipping through our art history text book and it immediately caught my eye. I wanted to do more research about this cathedral and learn more about it. Who built it, why was it built, where is it located, and what happened in the cathedral? These are some of the questions that I want to figure out and more.
The window was cold to the touch. The glass shimmered as the specks of sunlight danced, and Blake stood, peering out. As God put his head to the window, at once, he felt light shining through his soul. Six years old. Age ceased to define him and time ceased to exist. Silence seeped into every crevice of the room, and slowly, as the awe of the vision engulfed him, he felt the gates slowly open. His thoughts grew fluid, unrestrained, and almost chaotic. An untouched imagination had been liberated, and soon, the world around him transformed into one of magnificence and wonder. His childish naivety cloaked the flaws and turbulence of London, and the imagination became, to Blake, the body of God. The darkness lingering in the corners of London slowly became light. Years passed by, slowly fading into wisps of the past, and the blanket of innocence deteriorated as reality blurred the clarity of childhood.
While attending the Annunciation Orthodox cathedral’s high Mass, I think the church is beautiful, the architectures of the Church is fill with icons. The celebration is proper and formal. Since I was four years old, I have had an immense emotional connection with the church of Grace Cathedral. My school was connected to Grace Cathedral and from kindergarten all the way to eighth grade, I would attend services in the chapel twice a week. There, I shared sentiments of great happiness with my school and great sadness. During these times, I could observe the beauty and architecture of the cathedral. It amazed me how enormous the Church was and just by looking at the ceiling, I could see the intricate architectural features that supported the ceiling. Construction, which began in 1675, took thirty-five years until finally complete in 1710. It was built to replace a church that had been leveled by the Great Fire of 1666. St. Paul's is the largest cathedral in England, and said to be Wren's masterpiece. He brought a range of new forms, and architectural combination into English architecture. Cathedrals all around, have always played a large role in the communities they serve. Their fundamental purpose is to bring people closer to God, but over the centuries they have served as a focal point for trade, as a stronghold and a place of safety in times of war, and as immense status symbols. The functions, of a cathedral, take on an additional significance for St Paul's, because it’s known as the cathedral of the capital city and, of the nation. The present building is also the first cathedral to have been built since the creation of the Church of England in 1534, when religion was brought under the direct control of the monarch. The deep, dark, and misty woods will make you feel squeamish just as there are spiders crawling up and down your back. The vines that spring up and down the cement walls will grasp irregular visitors if you get too close. The heavy wooden door is rotted to pieces but that's exactly how you want it, right? The dark spots that you down from the windows smell delightful and really make the house irresistible to have. Nevertheless, visitors to these architectural masterpieces are fascinated by the design and structure of these churches. As darkness envelops the long and winding streets within the walls of castle Azelran, I hold my breath as I duck into one of the many alleyways running between the streets. The whole city is deserted, and even the inns are dead silent. Houses loom above me from all sides, as I trip over bins and stray pieces of rubbish. What has he done? Has he put everyone to sleep so I am alone? So that he can get me? As if. I won't go down without a fight. The cobbles fly beneath my feet. My tunic flutters in the wind, my long hair unfurling behind me in a chocolate brown mass. With my boots pounding on the paved stones, I skid around another corner, shivers running down my spine. I must get away. I don't care if it's never been done before. I have to leave.

I knew that death would come to him soon. Legend spoke about a necklace that can bring life to anyone or thing. It was said to have been belonged to an Oceanian, one of the water people. The Lost Jade Necklace of Serenity was what it was called, and it could bring healing to the Earth. Nonetheless, it could be the obliteration of mankind, also. I began to pack since my journey was to start at that moment.
