As I stepped into the old, raggedy house, I saw an eerie light glowing from the inside. Carmichael said, “ Are you guys sure this is a good idea?”
“Yes, what we see in here can be an amazing discovery!”
“I agree with Randall let's go in.”, said Peter. I carefully opened the door, scared for what was going to happen next. I then started walking through the abandoned building. The light was growing in brightness dramatically. I turned the corner and saw an amazing sight. The house has been on my street ever since I moved there. Me and my friends, Peter and Carmichael, had been fascinated by it. We decided that we were going to explore it. It was very old, and probably about to collapse. The wood on it had been weathered and bleached by

I opened the door at the end of the hallway to find a deep violet gate to another dimension. We were standing in awe at the sight, when a monstrous wooden tentacle grabbed us at we were then pulled in into the portal. When we entered, I had no thoughts, memories, or experiences from Earth. All I knew was that I was a giant tree trying to destroy every village I could. Two other trees were on my side, it was Peter and Carmichael, but at the time I didn’t know at the time. The day went on and on, and after every village we destroyed, I got a faint memory of Earth and the people that I knew. The memories were getting more and more vivid, they were turning more into visions. Everything was coming back, including the names of my friends. I realized it was carmichael and Peter! I started making words with my limbs and tried to get them to understand what was going on. They got the message, so we then headed out in search of how to get back home. We were walking through the woods, our hope leaving us with every step, when we started seeing a purplish glow from the sky. We looked up and saw the portal. We were all really excited, but the problem was that it was very high in the sky. We couldn’t reach it, and the only only way to get to it was to climb up on another tree. Peter knew that he had to stay behind to let us get out of this weird place. He let us climb
Everyone on the wall now noticed it and sat there in silence, watching. Several heartbeats later a second point of light appeared in the hills, and then another and another until I could no longer keep track. The glowing fiery points eventually appeared in a line, which undulated like a snake through the hilltops.
True Son stared at the place where his Indian father, Cuyloga, was standing only minutes ago. His words, still echoing in his head, “I am no longer your father, nor you my son.” True Son stood alone in the forest, the sounds of the river flowing beside him being his only accompaniment. All he could think about was how much he would like to trade today for yesterday, when he was still an Indian, running free. Now, he was in white civilization, where people barricaded themselves inside their homes, and were far from being free.
much easier. But Esperanza and Abueita were in shock how she would betray Papa like that.” “Mama, it hasn’t been even a year since Papa died, how could you do that?” Esperanza replied. “But I already talked with Amador and he would have already talked with Pablo too.”said Mama.” “And he is a kind man like Papa, he always help me remind me of him.”He means so much to me Esperanza!”argued Mama. But Esperanza didn’t listen to her words and ran outside, sobbing. Then Mama raced after her. She grabbed Esperanza’s hand and said,” Esperanza listen to me, I know it’s harsh, but things will get better okay?”Mama begged. “What?”Esperanza said with dripping tears.”What will get better!” “look, I know you love Papa, and I do too, but he wants us to be
Through the limited cracks, I could see the black peeling door I had once been faced with. Around it, the bricks were smothered in dark green moss and decay, letting off a dank and nose-pinching scent. I wasn’t alone during my observations as the wind consistently howled in my ear, as if whispering for me to go inside. I wanted to, as standing there just left me shivering and tense. Taking in a deep breath, as well as the taste of what I believed was dust, I clutched the door handle.
One day before Christmas at my house Jackie, Perla and I were playing Monopoly because they came for a sleepover. I pleasantly offered them Christmas treats that my mom already made and was baking more at the kitchen for tomorrow morning ,Christmas. My mom jinxed it and said “If you play for a long time you could teleport into the board game” I replied hopeless ¨I don’t think that could actually happen mom”. Couple hours later we saw a galaxy tunnel forming on top of The Monopoly Board Game. We walked towards the tunnel and we jumped in. We started floating and turning miniature size we all tried to stay together. We started shaking our legs like jelly as like we were going to tear apart.
At this point, I was determined to go back down, this had been the worst moment in my life. Somehow, all my friends had persuaded me to pursue and continued to go ahead of me. Once I had finally reached the top, the crater ,which I had thought to be beautiful, struck to be inundated land with tall grass. Disappointed and finding no point of this trip, I headed back down. The steep hills before me caused me to fall numerous times, and eventually a trip on a rock caused me to twist my ankle. I was in excruciating pain and was desperate to go home. However, home was far away. The volcano was on an island, and this island's only means of transportation was by boat. Steadily coming down the steep volcano, darkness started to come upon me. Looking in front of me, there were still two more hours to go. The only accompany I had were the sounds of insects, birds and my friends and guide that were barely able to be seen. Darkness filled my eyes with tears desperate for home. Finally reaching the base camp, I collapsed. My shoes were ready to be thrown into the garbage. Filled with mud and rips, it was impossible to wear again. Finally
Surrounding trees snaked from the soil into the arms of the obscure sky, the serrated wood conceiving faces in agony. The individuals fond of superstitions would whisper to you that the trees were actually in pain, mustering up noises enough to rupture the eardrums. Not a blade of green grass or life, for that matter, grew
There was a girl name Ellen. She was Jewish but her friend, Annemarie wasn’t. During the world war two, Nazis came to take Jewish people. That’s too bad for Ellen. It was very late when Annemarie’s mom heard a knock at the door. It was the Nazis here to check if there were any Jews hiding. Annemarie noticed that Ellen had the Star of David on her necklace. Annemarie tried to get it off but it would not budge. The Nazi soldiers checked inside the room and the two girls froze. Ellen and Annemarie’s hearts were beating so fast as the Nazi soldier told the girls to step out into the light. Suddenly, Ellen started crying and right away the Nazis looked at her and her necklace. The Nazi soldier took Ellen by the arm out the door. Annemarie’s mom gets slapped in the face trying to grab Ellen’s arm away from the soldier.
I do not remember the first book I read. Actually, I do not really remember much before I turned six. I do remember reading Little House on the Prairie, by Laura Ingles Wilder when I was in first grade. Back then, I lived in a neighborhood called Shadowmoss Plantation with my mom, dad, little sister Emme, and our two cats named Stonewall and Lilly. That was the year we discovered that Emme had cancer.
According to experts, they say that it seemed to be some kind of portal. The portal was made as if a pit was dug up from someone who shoveled it.
You're probably wondering why I'm in a closet, right? And no, not the closet, even though I am in that too. Nah, I mean a janitor's closet. Well, it's actually kinda simple. The people I hang out with were talking about things that I don't really like talking about, and I just ran in here to get away and calm down.
Then back down the tunnel I crawled like a mole with an extension cord in my mouth, I plugged it all up. " Click click," I turned the dial on the old tv, "if I could just get this station tuned in" Then a few more turns and there it was. I could see in real time what was above ground. "I have a bunker," I thought, "complete with
Once Joe noticed it he kicked the door and heard a metal tang. He found the door. When I emerged from the tunnels I realized that I was a short distance away from my
We looked around the enormous maze of long dark hallways, to see a sign or anything to bring us out of this horror whilst we were recovering from our exhausting jog. We turned left continuously and was sure that we went through the same exact dull and grey spot a million times as if we were going in small circles. Whilst I was losing hope, I saw an aged grey gate with a bright green light blinding my eyes on the door. I instantaneously told the old man. Quietly he went rushing by me straight towards freedom but reaching the exit I felt as if It was going further
As I stand in front of the dark brown, wooden door with its small, yet beautiful etched glass window, I remember all of the times that I have passed through this portal and entered the warm, comforting rooms inside. Before entering, I take a step back to admire this old, stubborn house. It's a two-story, white house with a three-car garage attached to it. My grandpa built the entire house from the foundation up and a lot of the items in it. After observing this scene for a few minutes, I continue to enter the house. I slowly turn the brass knob of the door and anticipate the feeling of acceptance inside. As I open the door, a flood of warmth passes over and through...
