Introduction The topic of creation and humanity is debated by Christians and non-Christians. Modern scientists can claim that the age of the universe is billions of years old and back up their claims with a dating system that cannot be proven. The Bible expresses that God is the creator and humans were fashioned by Him. There are different and varying views of creation, and as Christians, the Bible must be analyzed to examine the truth behind creation. Creationism: Six Literal Twenty Four Hour Days Creationism is the view that states the universe, including Adam and Eve, were created in six literal, twenty-four hour days and is the view that agrees with Scripture.
Common usage of the term “evolution” is that living things in our world have come into existence through unguided naturalistic processes beginning from a primeval mass of subatomic particles and radiation, over 20 billion years ago. The idea of Creation comes from the first two chapters of Genesis which states that God created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them in six, twenty-four hour periods of time. Throughout this paper substantial scientific evidence will be presented to attempt to disprove the theory of evolution and prove that creation is the only logical explanation for our existence. In order for evolution to have occurred, we would have needed a favorable environment for life to evolve and be sustained. So lets begin with the atmosphere.
Creationism has a broad range of beliefs involving a reliance on God’s miraculous work to explain the origin of the universe, of life, and of the different kinds of plants and animals on Earth. According to the creationist view, God willed everything into existence, and this is how humans came onto the Earth. Creationists say that the evolution theory is biased and incomplete. They believe that the fossil records fail to provide a link between diverse groups. To find out how old fossils are, scientists use a method called radioisotope dating, which measures the amount of uranium or lead lost over the years.
The first chapters of Genesis teach us about God’s perfect creation, man’s rebellious fall, God’s just punishment of death for sin, and God’s gracious promise of the seed, Jesus Christ (Answers in Genesis). Ham states “The creation/evolution debate is really a conflict between two philosophical worldviews based on two different accounts of origins or historical science beliefs. Creation is the only viable model of historical science confirmed by observational science in today’s modern scientific era.” He says “Creationists and Evolutionists have the same evidence on the Grand Canyon, Fossils, Animals, Humans, DNA, Radioactive Decay and the Universe.” Creationists and evolutionists differ in the sense that although they use the same evidence they develop two radically different interpretations. Ham states “The diversity of species which is observed is only a difference in “kind”.” He then concludes that it cannot be used as evidence for evolution. Another example appears when Ham talks about how creationists and evolutionists at Goddard Space Center agreed on how to build the Hubble telescope.

Theistic evolution : Theistic evolution is the principle that religious teachings about God corresponds to the scientific concepts of biological evolution of modern times . This evolution is not a scientific theory , but only a line between science and religious beliefs ( Scott , 2004) . Mankind is then a participant in the creation of the universe nie , so dat we have a closed loop .
The main complication is that creationist believe that god created man, but there is much more to life on earth than man, it goes from animals, to plants, to bacteria, right down to single nucleic acid sequences; which are capable of sustaining life and reproducing. Even though the theory of Evolution has many pieces of evidence missing, it is hard to believe that life was placed on earth by a supernatural figure(God). Creationism is the belief that a supernatural being created all living things in their present form. The creation story written in the Bible is taken as a literal truth, instead of a metaphorical myth. There is nothing wrong with believing in a higher source as a God but scientific theories have measured Earth’s history in billions of years and have discovered biology is shaped by the natural force of evolution.
The first humans, Adam and Eve, were made by God “in his own image…male and female created he them,” (Genesis 1:27). Even the concepts of day and night and seasons and years were of divine origin (Genesis 1:14). All of these objects and ideas were created in the course of six days, and all were formed by the work of God. On the other hand, believers in science take a completely different approach in explaining the origin of the universe. Although there is more than one theory, the most popular today is the concept of the big ba... ... middle of paper ... ...rs old.
These thoughts are polar opposites compared to that of modern-day theology and exegesis of Genesis 1. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. ” From a modern-day theological interpretation, this verse means exactly what is being said, God simply created the heavens, which include the vast expanses of the universe, and then He created the earth, but for someone from such a philosophical background as Augustine, this verse has the potential for a great deal of symbolism. Augustine explains that the heavens and the earth were already created, but that they were both in an “invisible and unformed ” state of being, waiting for the time of creation. So the “creation” of heaven and earth found in the account of Genesis 1 is referring to God giving form to the unformed heaven and earth.
We also learn that before God started to create, the earth was empty, dark, and lifeless. The text also represents the beginning of everything earthly by saying God will create life on earth and in the heavens. The second verse says “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”(NKJV) To me this verse is explaining further the reason God choose to create. I think the verse shows that God didn’t want to have something that was lifeless and pointless.
In other words, they were God in the flesh, but Adam was made in the image of God while Jesus was made in the image of the “invisible God” 2. Unlike Adam, Lord Jesus was, divine, having the attributes, privileges, and names of deity. Being fully God, He is worthy of worship1. Also unlike Jesus, Adam had a limited domain as the head of the human race and the created world, while Jesus was head of the redeemed humanity and had power over all things because he died on the cross and was later resurrected from the dead in turn freeing mankind from sin 1. Both Adam and Jesus were also tested by the temptations of Satan which led to the downfall of one and the victory of the other.
