Let the Children Choose In America today there are many choices we have, as people we can choose to do just about anything and anywhere. There is however a place where most of the American children have no choice at all, what to believe when it comes to science. It is a mystery among men, the question that has every person in the world wonder, “Where did it all come from?” Over the last forty to fifty years, the United States Government has decided to separate church and state, so why is evolution taught? Evolution is a religion, it is not science. The scientific method which is used to test a hypothesis in science is defined as: a method of procedure that has characterized natural science since the 17th century, consisting in systematic observation, measurement, and experiment, and the formulation, testing and modification of hypothesis. The United States Federal Government should pass a law that establishes public schools in all fifty states must allow children and or their parents to choose what theory to be taught when it comes to science. Creation or Evolution, as of now public schools are told not to teach creation because it is based on religion. The Federal Government however decides to ignore the fact that evolution is also a religion, but because it is the most popular form of biology it is accepted, using the scientific method, evolution can never be proven. Needed to be a proven theory it needs to be; systematically observed, measured, and tested. “Evolution, at the most, is an idea about history, not observational science. There may be inferences we can make about the past based on modern observations, and these may or may not be true, but don't bother claiming that ideas about history are the same as repeatable ... ... middle of paper ... ...s and parents and counselors want them to be open minded, believing all things can coexist. The public schools though, refuse to allow parents and their children the choice and freedom of choosing what they will learn throughout high school. There may be arguments about how will they complete anatomy or biology or even chemistry, well that is simple. Those who choose evolution will stick to the already published books, those who choose creationism/intelligent design can choose from the publishers that already create those books for private institutions. Will there still be debates? Absolutely, it wouldn’t be America if everyone agreed on something, but what it will allow is a way to please both parties, and for children and teens and young adults to learn to coexist with one another. This is the most important thing today right? For everyone to be able to coexist.
