The main aim of this research is to examine the current cost, quality and waste management practice in architectural business models. The structure and processes that should be used for sustainable business design should be resource efficient and environmentally responsible throughout the life cycle of construction project from the selection of the design to construction, renovation, operation, maintenance and destruction. Cost, quality and waste management is an important element in project design with reference to its sustainability as the cost and waste management addresses the resources efficiency factor of the project and quality addresses the environmental friendly factor of a construction project. However in most of the project, the …show more content…

The efficient management incorporates the concept of efficient cost management and waste management. The construction industry is undergoing through rapid changes in its working and operations. In such rapid developments and changing practices, waste management and cost management are the highly discussed issues along with the concept of quality control. Waste management along with maintaining the quality and making the project cost feasible is an important challenge that is faced by the construction industry (Harris & McCaffer, 2013). Concern for adopting feasible business methods to support successful business methods has emerged over the last 40 years in the architectural design management. Since the start of the 1990 recession, the reduction of design fees in the UK has emphasised the need to improve the efficiency of the design process in the architectural models by reducing the waste, managing the cost and enhancing the quality of architectural models (Jaillon, et al., 2009). Management of quality and its application is relatively a new technique in the architectural business design along with the concept of waste, efficiency and quality management. In building designs, waste, cost efficiency and quality management are concepts which are difficult to quantify in building design and are difficult to appreciate. The factors that mainly contribute to the waste management in building design mainly arise due to the management problems. Major scope of this research paper is focused on investigating the current quality, cost and waste management practices in the architectural business models along with the shortcomings in the practices and the solutions that can best address the mentioned shortcomings (Rounce,
