Corruption is a phenomenon at the intersection of law, economics and politics. In fact, in recent years corruption has renewed its interest among academics and government. Indeed, with the end of the Cold War and the policy of "conditionality", donors worked to spread their development aid based on good governance. Also, this has increased the concern of agencies on the effects of corruption on economic performance. The increase in recent years in the number of countries with democratic systems and the freedom of the media have created an environment in which to discuss corruption is no longer a taboo. International financial institutions and non-governmental organizations have contributed in the awareness of the economic costs of the phenomenon. With globalization, the frequency of contacts between countries where corruption is endemic has multiplied. In this paper I will be talking about the growth of corruption, factors that promoted it, its effects, and how to fight this monster.

Corruption is a phenomenon that did not arise yesterday, it appeared several years ago. Historically, corruption is a concept that has been applied to both political behavior and sexual attitudes. Like the Latin term Corruptus the corrupt word evokes images of evil, factors of destruction. However, the definitions are not static. The most popular and simple definition of corruption is that it is the abuse of public power for private benefit. This is the definition used by the World Bank (Tanzi 8). ...to adopt necessary legal frameworks and to encourage a credible culture anti-corruption. The commitment at the highest level, as you know, is important but not sufficient. Another vital prerequisite is to remove the components that corruption. We are talking about a wide range of policies and measures. Let me conclude by emphasizing a great conclusion. In order to achieve desired result, that is to say, the fight against corruption; we need to introduce fundamental reforms. The bases of the reform package are to have real ethics in society, not just a mechanical recipe of things to do.
