Having analyzed a lot of literature on the issues connected to the topic of choosing alternative ways of treatment instead of conventional medicine, I want to say that there are natural treatments for every complaint and what is more, non-traditional medicine attempts to repair balance by removing any barriers and problems, keeping human’s body from healing itself. The only obstacle to recovering process can be a person and, to be precise, his or her attitude to the approach that is applied. A feature of the person, the essence of the disease and other factors more occur in treatment, and not so much which disease is being treated. In the article written by Bonafede (2004), there was provided a general overview of the use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). This study also required to explore the nature of CAM use and whether CAM use is an alternative to or balance of conventional medicine.

Acupuncture For many centuries, humanity has been on an eternal quest for cures and treatments for many chronic conditions. At the present time, conventional medicine is mostly performed by doctors and other health care professionals, with the extensive use of pharmaceutical drugs, surgery or radiation treatments for disease treatment. Conversely, even though not as popular, complementary and alternative medicine and treatment options are slowly gaining popularity and becoming an addition to traditional medicine. Complementary and alternative treatments are identified as a group of medical and healing systems different from the traditional ones. This type of approach centers on individualized treatment for the patient, treats the body as a whole, and promotes self healing and search for the spiritual nature of each individual.

Ethical Theory The importance of ethical theory plays a large role in nursing practices. It is often difficult to understand where the lines of confidentiality should be drawn, so in order to help decipher the feelings nurse practitioners have of what they consider to be fair or unfair, there are a number of ethical theories that can be used in order to understand a problem (McGowen, 2012). Morally, each individual has their own personal compass, but in terms of medical practice, there needs to be a unanimous understanding of what constitutes correct behavior for the best interests of the patient. Practices such as Utilitarianism, Deontology/Kantianism, Virtue Ethics and Moral Particularism all play a vital role when it comes to understanding the application of rules and consequences in nursing practice. Each theory has a specific approach for dealing with ethical issues.
