The technological inventions have led to many changes in our lives. Our age is called a digital age. People use technology not only for communication ,but also for education. As a result , educational materials are not only presented through the text books, but also presented by using technologies inside classrooms.Moreover,learners are asked to access information by using technologies outside a classroom

Educational technology is an umbrella term that includes many types of technologies such as computer softwares,the internet, I pads , iPods, and mobiles. By using the internet , learners are exposed to an amazing world. This world contains new branches of technology such as social networks including Twitter ,and Facebook, ,Wikis ,Blogs, and Rss.We have knowledge explosion.

By using technology in learning ,learning processes have improved. Learners interact with technology rather than a teacher or a text book to get a piece of information .For example, a learner may goggle a term to find out its definition. Also, technology provides many resources for information ,so a learner can expand his background on a particular subject rather than asking a teacher to provide additional information. Moreover, a learner does not need to attend extra courses at school to improve his level .He can attend an e-learning course at home to improve his level in a particular course or a skill.

Computers are used in language learning and teaching ,so many new terms are coined to explain this process. CALL was first introduced on university mainframe computers.
