Construction Construction is a necessary art form that requires vision, which calls upon the use of tools and provides shelter from the extreme environment. These processes call upon the use of tools and material. Construction is a main ingredient to building. If they do not have it, you cannot make anything and if they do they can make a lot of things. We have schools, homes and office buildings for us today. Carpentry Technology predicts that a novice should have the provided space for the project. They should also have a vision of the project before using the required tools and material to manipulate/create the set forth project. If we did not have people who wanted to do construction like carpenters want too, we would never have those things. Before they even think about building something or ordering material, always have a plan. Without a plan a lot can go wrong. Most people make a blue print, because they know what they will all need and they can change it with a pencil. If they make a mistake out there while building, many things can go horribly wrong. Novice need to picture how they want your place to be. Today many people use power tools, because they are a lot faster. Nothing ever comes easy; if it does then they have done something wrong. Redoing my grandma's deck is my senior project. We will now discuss the basic steps to constructing a deck. When novices are constructing a project like a deck, they should construct a blue print or a drawing of their project. “The wonderful thing about decks is that they extend living space into the great outdoors. For the most part, any activity they can do inside can also be done outside” (Jeswald 6). When they are constructing a blue print first envision their project. Decks... ... middle of paper ... ... and after winter to get dirt and other materials off, so it will be looking like new again. If they are ever going to clean off your deck during the winter, make sure there is not any metal or scrapers on the shovel. These will scratch the deck and take chunks out. Use a plastic shovel and push off the snow, never put salt on their deck it will eat at the material. When creating a deck remember look over the land, get to know the lay of the land. Get the slope of hills if there are any. Make sure they have the space provided for your deck. They do not want a small space for a huge deck. Get your tools and material, make sure it is all for their environment use. Building a deck is a great way to get family together and work as a team to accomplish something great. “Your home is your biggest investment. It's an even better investment if you add a deck”(Breyer).
I first drew out a plan of where I wanted pictures, characters, quotes, etc. Then I got a wood frame that I created along with my dad. Painted it gray to make a good contrast between the white, black, and orange colors. After gathering the information need to complete my project. I glued it on another sheet to bring it out then glued that onto the board. A found an old clipboard to add more effect on as if you were in a game and put my annotated sources and process paper.

Woodworkers contribute to the beauty and variety of the wooden products that surround us. Some woodworkers are employed in primary industries, meaning that they transform raw logs into a usable form of wood to sell to manufacturers or the public. Woodworkers can also be found in secondary industries, manufacturing finished products such as wooden toys, beds, dressers, moldings, and window frames. Many woodworkers have to read blueprints or drawings of a finished product, Measure the materials and operate the machines that cut and shape the wood. They also use hand tools to be more precise. Woodworkers need to use many different types of machines. From manual to almost fully automatic. The increase in computerized machinery has increased the productivity and precision, as well as the demand for workers with computer knowledge.

The construction phase would not be possible without the knowledge of basic geometry. Points, lines, measurements and angles are often used to lay out the building in accordance to the architect drawings.
Carpenters possess many great skills such as good business skills, detail oriented, manual dexterity, math skills, physical stamina and strength, and problem solving skills. Carpentry is a very detailed job depending on the project. For example, building structures like buildings are more detail oriented than maybe constructing a shelf, desk, bed or podium. With that being said, carpentry involves a variety of tools. Carpenters are the second largest group of workers in the building trade, with 1.3 million carpenters in the United States alone. There are many different types of carpenters such as residential, commercial, industrial, and rough and finish. (Encyclopedia. 481-485)
Begin your strategic placement of blocks in the pattern that looks best to you, making sure to leave space open in the center to add rooms and details inside the ship. Keep in mind, using half-slabs will allow you to design more intricacy to the outside of your ship. When designing, you have the option of either building as an adventure map or a creation map. Whichever you choose, the basic design will follow the same principles. After you have built the basic shape and design, begin to pick out materials for weapons such as TNT bricks and fire chargers. These will be become fully functional with the use of working levers within the craft. One thing to note is that the game only allows one TNT brick to be functional at a time, so be sure to keep this in mind during construction. From here, it is just a matter of adding specific features like escape hatches, captains’ quarters and even droids throughout your ship.
Woodworking matters! It's more than a pastime or a hobby—being a woodworker means that you know the satisfaction and pride that comes from using your hands and your mind to build beautiful, functional objects. You are as interested in the process as well as the outcome. Amid the speed and chaos of the modern world, woodworking gives us a place where we can slow down, pay attention, and take the time to do things right.
It takes time to become skilled in the craft of woodworking. The nice thing about working up to that expert craftsman level is you will be able to build some really nice furniture for you and your family to enjoy. Imagine building a custom coffee table or grandfather clock and having it sit in your living room. It will be a topic of conversation whenever you have friends come over to visit. They will ask: How did you make it? Where
Woodworking supports a child’s creativity by allowing them to experiment and explore with materials that they have more than likely had little to no exposure to. When given the proper tools a child can build whatever they like with the wood as well. Using wood and similar materials gives children the right to be creative by thinking for themselves and deciding what they wish to create. Even if what they have made looks nothing like what they say it is to them that’s what it is, so that is what it is. When given the opportunity to explore any medium it allows for great creative growth.
Digital fabrication is coming into the construction industry to create precisely crafted and complex buildings in response to the new competitive environment and construction market demands. Thanks to advanced technology, the good revolution can be seen in most industrial activities. Almost all of the industry sectors are trying to keep themselves up to date with new related innovation to boost their sustainable growth. However, unfortunately architects and construction engineers have been more conservative despite all of the massive global investment in the construction sector. This conservative trend was started many years after great prosperity and success in the other industries. As an example, in comparison with the more developed automotive industry, the construction industry has been weighing the pros and cons of doing automation, and it is still under development. Despite some limitations and lack of information over the 80’s and even 90’s, but the current status indicates good progress. Today, most of architectural design is no longer possible without computer technologies. The models have become more complex and require advanced tools to understand design codes and implement fabrication processes. It can be said, that the advanced automated tools with a user-friendly programming system can bring incredible solutions for architects and construction engineers. Many researchers have made significant studies to consider all possibilities and limitations of digital design-construction in various types of procedures.
My mentor name was David Joe Ursy. He works for Joe McGee Construction. He works for Joe McGee on the farm portion of his business. He works on tractors, combines, welding, and farming crops. He has been working for Joe McGee for 20-30 years. To me it's fun and interesting. I like to do it some people don’t like it. When we started working on my project, I cleaned all the metal with a wire brush. Once I got it all the metal cleaned of rust, I started making the top after I got the top like I wanted it, I welded it and put all the nuts and bolts inside the table. I checked to see how it looked and took them out. I cleaned the camshaft and welded it to the flexplate.
The first thing in building a house is selecting a lot and lot preparation. The land has to be cleared of trees and brush and graded to ensure a level building area. This process is usually called excavating and grading. This is usually a very fast process but can be costly depending on the job.
Helping people create tools or projects that will be used frequently is a great act of kindness that can be done for anyone. Whether it be something with a practical use of something created solely for the purpose of entertainment, the ability to build is an invaluable tool. Building is one of the most useful things humans can do. Practically anything can be built with enough time and effort put into it.
Wood carving is not only an ancient form an art, but it also is a type of art that varies from culture to culture. It has also been a way to express your feelings. Many thins such as shelves and other wooden objects do not have intricate designs like before. This scrapbook is about wood carving and will talk about the styles of wood carving, the tools used, the wood used, and the basics of wood carving.
