In the Open-Mindedness personality section, my percentile is a 7. I’m more close-minded, meaning I tend to be conventional, down to earth, narrow interests, uncreative, and I prefer traditional and familiar experiences. In the Conscientiousness personality section, my percentile is an 87. I’m more conscientiousness, meaning I am reliable, well-organized, self-disciplined, careful; reliable, well-organized, self-disciplined, careful, very well-organized, and can be relied upon. When it comes to the Extraversion personality section, my percentile is a 7. I’m introverted, meaning I tend to be shy, reserved, inhibited, quiet, and I probably enjoy spending quiet time alone. When it comes to the Agreeableness personality section, I scored a 78. I tend to be agreeable, meaning I tend to be good natured, sympathetic, forgiving, and courteous. Although I am at times shy and not talkative, I am not a complete introvert. One of the questions they asked on the test was that am I outgoing or sociable. I strongly disagree because I work 60 hours a week and I go to campus four times a week. For five days in a week, I work the night shift, 12 hours straight. Therefore, I do not have the time to be outgoing. Once again, it is not because I don’t want to, it’s because I can’t be outgoing, like how I used to. Understanding why people do what they do has baffled people for centuries. The Myers-Briggs Personality test has answer a few of these questions. Are you an Extrovert or an Introvert, Sensor or iNtuitive, a Thinker or a Feeler, a Judger or Perceiver? Once you have the tools to understand yourself, you are capable of understanding others. Although the way I display shows that I am hard-working, I do not want other people to know that. I afraid that they will think that I am a nerd. I usually pretend that I am outgoing, such as posting pictures with my friends, when I use social media. I think others can assess most of my personality based on my behavioral residue. I am a heavy sleeper, hard-working, and love clean and listening to music. However, I am not outgoing. I put my backpack next to my chair because I have to go to school every day. If I do not have class, I would stay at home. Hence, it does not mean that I am outgoing.
Upon completion of the Big Five Personality test, my results were somewhat surprising to me. Overall, I scored on the low end for Openness to Experience/Intellect, Extraversion and Neuroticism dimensions and on the high end for Conscientiousness and Agreeableness dimensions. The Big Five Personality Test provided an interesting account of my personality. Although the majority of the results were accurate, I was surprised by two of the outcomes. According to this test, I am a closed-minded, unmethodical, social butterfly that is well-mannered towards others and composed under pressure (John, 2009). First, the results were completely accurate as I am extremely extroverted. I never meet a stranger, and I carry on conversations with anyone. From the custodian, to the cashier, to a random person on the street, it gives me a great sense of fulfillment to engage in dialogue with others from all walks of life. Rather than falling behind or losing materials that you’re organize and tend to keep things where you can find them easily. Introverted being shy or nervous with talking in front of the class where you tend to keep away from doing something in front of a class full of students or even working in groups. Introverts sometimes prefer to work alone and spend time by themselves rather than hanging out at parties, or social event that may make them uncomfortable or feel out of place. They also tend to have fewer friends because of socializing tends not to be a big part of the personality. This study was conducted by Sanjay Srivastava. The results came from people taking a test with questions. The five traits were founded by John A. Johnson he wrote descriptions of the five domains and thirty subdomains. These descriptions are based on an extensive reading of the scientific literature on personality measurement. Everybody's personality is different. Some may be extraversion's or narcissists, low self-monitoring or high self-monitoring and the list goes on. During this semester, taking Personality Theories has thought me more about myself than I have learned in my whole life. I believe that my personality stems from my family environment, my friends and society and then I get to choose what I think to be morally correct and what fits with my personality the best.
My score on extraversion was 22, low again compared to the norm. For this trait, I agreed with my results at first, but after some thinking I realized although I am introverted, I do behave extravertly sometimes. In general, I prefer working alone, staying indoors, and I don’t like being around a lot of people. For example, when given a group project, I’d prefer working on my own. Yet most of the time, I end up being the group leader because I get along well with people and am usually optimistic. Basically, I prefer settings with less people, but I can mingle well with strangers at parties or functions. Most of my friends and myself included, would say I am extraverted because I make friends easily and am usually very happy and cheerful. But that is only partially true because I do behave differently depending on the situation and my role as a friend, student, employee, etc. Therefore, I don’t agree with my results overall. My personality type is Extroverted, intuitive, feeling, perceptive or ENFP. According to the description in the exercise, ENFP's are warm, enthusiastic and live their outer life more with intuition and their inner more with feeling. According to the findings of the Five Factor Model of personality, I have a relatively balanced score on a number of the key traits. For example, on the continuum of extroversion versus introversion, I scored moderately high in both categories, indicating that I am comfortable being around other people and also being alone. I also scored moderate on the quality of contentiousness, indicating I am always struggling between being organized and disorganized, which is also true. I scored extremely high on agreeableness, indicating that I am basically a trusting and friendly person. In general, I believe this speaks well of my mental health. But I scored high for the trait of neuroticism, which indicates that I can be emotional and insecure (i.e., I worry a great deal). I also ranked high on the trait of openness, on seeking out new experiences and being open-minded. This indicates that I am open to new ideas and enjoy creative and novel things.
Since I scored moderately, I fall in both categories. Although some would argue that their results are nowhere near correct, I would say that mine were, for the most part, spot on. I did conjure up a few disagreements; however, a more detailed and longer test might be able to give me a more in depth and accurate rating of my personality. The conclusions of my test say that I am moderately open to experience, highly conscientious, moderately extraverted, and high in both agreeableness and neuroticism.

The Big Five structure captures, at a broad level of abstraction, commonalities among most of the existing systems of personality description, and provides an integrative descriptive model for personality research. 2) On Conscientiousness, I rank very high – 86%. I also agree with this placement. I am well-organized and reliable. I feel that this part of my personality weighs down my openness to new experiences above. I’m very careful and calculated, taking care to get things right. 3) In Extraversion I ranked very low at just 7 percent. This is probably an accurate depiction, but if you asked most people who know me they wouldn’t rank me that low. I am a quiet, thoughtful person and I prefer small groups to large crowds. I am perfectly happy spending quiet time on my own. I actually work very hard at being more outgoing and forcing myself to talk to people in social situations where I would feel more comfortable melding into the background.
