Computer Science Personal Statement

Watching closely to my father's work in the field of electronics and computer played a crucial role as my mind molded towards this technical studies. The programming courses like QBASIC, Visual Basic 5 introduced during my school days helped me understand how computers can be programmed and useful in real life. These courses intensified my interests towards logics and mathematics. My keen interest for learning new ideas and inner desire to reach the degree of excellence in the field of mathematics and logics made me realize that Engineering is the field where I can blend my skill and passion to create innovative ideas. My intense hard work, strong determination and passion for mathematics and logics paid off when I got the opportunity to study Bachelor’s Degree of Computer Engineering in my own country’s pioneer engineering institute, Institute of Engineering (IOE), Pulchowk Campus, Tribhuvan University.

Being a creative person, I am inclined towards using this technology to bring out the best that I can give for the industry. My interest in this particular Master’s stems from my past experience in the field of computer science and technology, tasks and projects undertaken during the B. Tech program; and also the feedback I receive from my friends and peers in this domain. My academic curriculum in School was responsible for molding my interest in Computer Science. I got introduced to programming while I was studying in 8th grade, it made me very excited and I showed immense interest in this field. I have learnt C++ in 8th grade and Java (BlueJ) in 9th as well as in 10th grade. In 10th grade, I have secured 90% in Computer Application and have been among the toppers of our school in this subject. After the 10th grade I was motivated to take Computer Science as specialization in Senior High School (11th and 12th).

Statement of Purpose In this era of information technology I feel a sense of pride in being so closely associated with the field of computer science. The desire to forge ahead in this field by doing cutting-edge research has motivated me to pursue graduate studies. In my childhood, I was very inquisitive and used to wonder how different machines and instruments work. Right from the age of 13, I was given the opportunity to gain acquaintance with Computers.
