In some states there are rules and regulations that dictate how a individual should go about refueling a vehicle at a gas station. If these rules and regulations are not followed as stated an individual can be cited a fine. The fine can vary from area to area and are normally pretty expensive. However these rules and regulations are set in place for the safety of the operator and those that are in the vicinity of the operator as well. Leaving a vehicle unattended while refueling can lead to many dangers and wrong doings. A few things that might possibly happen are the automatic shut off on the fuel pump nozzle might not shut off properly and fuel could continuously spill out of the vehicles fuel door, or someone may get the idea to come take the nozzle out of your vehicle and place it in their own and fill up their tank on your own dime. Fuel spilling out onto the ground can pose many threats because of its flammability. Fuel can be ignited by many different sources but just to name a few there are static electricity, fire, and heat. Fuel has a very lox evaporating temperature so it dries very quickly and the liquid fuel is not the most flammable part of fuel, the fumes are. If you were to throw a lit cigarette into a bucket of fuel it would most likely just go out, but if you held the lit cigarette over a fuel source that has strong fumes the chances of a flash fire are extremely high. Also If some other individual was to come take your gas nozzle not only could you be getting stole from but the individual could also be up to no good. That person could possibly vandalize the fuel pump, or purposely spill fuel on the ground or vehicle to start a fire, which would be classified as arson. So with the dangers, potential threats, and ...

...rtant, the list is endless. There is no room for complacency when it comes to your job, or your life. Because it could just be your life or some innocent individuals life that gets taken because of complacency.
There are many issues that can be avoided through concentration, being constantly aware of your surroundings, and not being complacent. Every accident can be avoided in someway or another and there is no god excuse for any type of careless ness or complacency. Through the error of my ways I have learned to pay more attention to what I am doing and not to be complacent on the job, no matter what it may be about, from something such as leaving a fuel pump nozzle in a vehicle and driving off, to something as big as letting a drunk driver get away. NOTHING is to small, every detail counts when it comes to being aware of your surroundings and what you are doing.
Employee training can reduce or eliminate unsafe behaviors by teaching the employees how to perform their job safely. The training needs to be specific on what the employee is expected to do (Bernardin & Russell, 2013). For instance; if an employee was lifting heavy boxes all day, they need to be taught to bend at the knees and always use both hands to prevent back injuries.
...et without adequate safe guards does not responsibly meet the needs of consumers’” (1). This irresponsible behavior on behalf of the government further proves that they are acting unethically when they change the gasoline blend used by the public without properly informing them.
Ever since the invention of the automobile, numerous efforts have been employed to try and improve its safety features. Judging by the current statistics, one could argue that driving has so far turned out to be a risky business. In actual fact, people of all ages and social status are considered to be in control of lethal weapons whenever they have to drive. According to the National Safety Council, it is estimated that more than 41,000 people lose their lives in road accidents annually and no less than 2 million more suffer from serious life threatening injuries (2009). Furthermore, it is estimated that at least 50% of the people killed in road accidents is as a result of their failure to adhere to safety measures such as wearing seatbelts while driving, driving under the influence, or careless driving (Ingalls, “Defensive Driving Strategies”). As an effect, huge losses occur with respect to life, injuries sustained, and damage to property.
What triggers, and to what severity, drive one to the last resort of risking
Behaviors to Improve Patient Safety. There are five behaviors in which I, as a health care professional, can practice in order to improve safety for patients in my direct care. These include following written safety protocols, speak up when you have concerns, communicate clearly, don’t let yourself get careless, and take care of yourself. By adhering to simple, basic protocols such as hand washing you can be a key player in reducing the spread of infection to your patients and thus, keeping your patients safe. As a healthcare professional you must be an advocate for your patients and their safety by reporting unsafe working conditions, close calls, and adverse events.
..., it can be minimized. Employers, as well as employees, must become increasingly aware of their surroundings in order to ensure safety for themselves and those with which they work. Only then can a business truly begin their journey to creating an environment that effectively promotes the well-being and safety of everyone involved.
...ture a risk-taking species. In ancient times we took risks just to eat. Later we took huge risks by setting out in little wooden ships to explore the earth's surface. We continued as we sought to fly, travel faster than the speed of sound and to head off into space. We rely on increasingly more complex equipment and constantly strive to design and manufacture faster and even more elaborate devices. It goes without saying that every effort is made to ensure our "safety"; to keep us from harm or danger. Every time you slide behind the wheel of your vehicle you are taking a risk. Driving is the riskiest activity in our lives. It is an inherently "unsafe" environment. The most perfect vehicles on the best designed highways on beautiful sunny days driven by fallible human beings crash into each other. The only way to drive "safely" (as we are all admonished to do!) is to learn more about the process. Learn more about your vehicle and how to maintain it; learn how to use your eyes to look far down the road; learn to spot problems before they happen; and also learn to deal with emergency situations. In most cases it's the human element that fails. After all, safe is only as safe does.
Distracted driving is a prime example of being irresponsible when the lives of the driver and others are at stat. One quick glance at a texted massage can cause multiple fatalities leading to pain and suffering for the surviving loved ones of the victim and distracted driver. Even without fatalities or injury distracted driving has cause hundreds of accidence leading to unnecessary spending for emergency resources, i.e. police and ambulances calls. Simple choices
The rate of errors and situations are seen as chances for improvement. A great degree of preventable adversative events and medical faults happen. They cause injury to patients and their loved ones. Events are possibly able to occur in all types of settings. Innovations and strategies have been created to identify hazards to progress patient and staff safety. Nurses are dominant to providing an atmosphere and values of safety. As an outcome, nurses are becoming safety leaders in the healthcare environment(Utrich&Kear,
One of the biggest challenges managers face in motivating employees is the ability to meet their safety needs. Because of the weak economy and high
We will start with the fuel tank. A fuel tank comes in many different sizes depending on how much space is available. Most cars and trucks have only one tank but some trucks have two. Fuel tanks can be made of 3 different things. These are pressed corrosion-resistant steel, aluminum, or molded reinforced polyethylene plastic. The fuel tank has internal baffles or surge plates to prevent the fuel from sloshing back and forth. If you hear splashing in the tank on acceleration or deceleration, this means that the baffles could be broken. All tanks have a fuel filler pipe, a fuel outlet line to the engine and a vent system. All catalytic converter cars are equipped with a filler pipe restrictor so that leaded fuel, which is dispensed from a thicker nozzle, cannot be introduced into the fuel system. All modern fuel tanks include devices that prevent vapors from leaving the tank. All fuel tank designs provide some control of fuel height when the tank is filled. This is achieved by using vent lings within the filler tube or tank. With this design only 90% of the tank is ever full, leaving 10% for expansion. Some vehicles have a over filling limiting valve to prevent overfilling of the tank.
As for employees, it is essential for them to work together and cooperate with one another to prevent any accidents from occurring and to not carry out any actions that may be reckless and bring harm to their fellow colleagues. They are ultimately responsible for the safety of their colleagues and themselves. Failing to do so will not only cause mishaps but it may also result in parties being convicted for breaching this act.

It’s true what everyone talks about safety – you are the key to your safety, when you do it safely you do it the right way and the best gift you can give to your family is to always stay safe. We have been taught by our parents and teachers to be cautious while doing a number of things. That’s very essential in our daily lives, because one needs to be extra cautious to prevent unavoidable accidents. However, mishaps do happen everywhere in the safest of places, no matter how careful we are in our actions. It is highly unpredictable, what’s going to happen the very next instant. There are numerous incidences we come across like simple trips, falls, cuts due to sharp objects, burns or sudden worsening of a person’s health condition, causing
