Preface
In our fast paced world of new and upcoming technology, the smartphone market has sky-rocked in previous decades. One of the worlds leading smart phones companies, Apple Inc, has recently been on the decline and it's top competitor Samsung is taking the stage.
In more recent years, the Apple iPhone has dominated the smartphone world known for its ease of use and high quality design. Apple's first iPhone design hit markets in June of 2007 created by Apple's founder Steve Jobs. One of Apples more recent iPhone model, the iPhone 5 which came out in September of 2012 was soon replaced by the iPhone 5c and 5s which came out a year late. Samsung stocks are slowly creeping past Apple's which have dropped 37% scene September 2013's all time high- just two days before the iPhone 5 was available in stores. In comparison IHS iSuppli, an industrial data website specializing in electronic/ media services reported that Samsung held 28% of global smartphone markets in the previous year.
Samsung VS Apple
A recent survey from a research investment firm called Canaccord Genuity concludes that more recent Galaxy phones sold more combined units in the U.S than Apple’s iPhone did in May of 2013. Respectively Android and IOS operating systems represented 91.1% of all smartphone shipments during the 4QT of 2012. In 2013, Samsung's 4QT profit rose to 76%; a record high for “strength of smartphone sales”. Comparably Apple’s stock fell by more than 5% after the launch of their new iPhone 5s and 5c.
Apple has been criticized in the past for releasing upgraded models of their products, like the iPhone before major holidays to boost profits. Its been noted that Samsung often releases their new phones during months that Apples sales ar...

...ved shares. It had been noted “around a third of the world’s handsets are sold in China to half a billion people, yet only 12% of these phones are made by apple” (UK DailyMail). The article had go one to describe that an iPhone cost around the same as an average persons month salary who resigned in a urban area.
If Apple wants to continue to prosper above Samsung in the international smartphone market, the company will need to make advances in the Chinese market place. In 2013 China was Apples second largest market, which gives the company room to improve.
Looking at Apple’s biggest competitor, Samsung, Steve Jobs legend will need to improve innovation to provide more attractive features in a new market, cheaper prices- without sacrificing quality and better marketing techniques to target specific audiences in this new and up coming market.

is a fierce competitor in many industries, they should not lose sight of some of their biggest competition; including Google, Samsung, Lenovo, Sony and many more. As these companies explore the advancement of the same technology that Apple is now using, Apple will need to continuously expand their own innovative capabilities in each of the industry they currently dominate.
This segment can either put Apple on the edge of advantage or decrease the company’s capabilities. Over the years, Apple has proven to be a giant in this field because of its innovative products and services. Apple always takes the led while its competitors follow suit, although this also poses to be challenge for the company, it took Google less than one year to replicate ApplePay, Google called it AndroidPay it has the same capacity to function just exactly like ApplePay. This shows that Apple’s products and services could be copied thereby reducing the uniqueness of the products. Because the short lifecycle of technology, Apple needs to keep upgrading its products and services to stay on the top of the game. “Because the industries in which
There are a large number of competitors present in Smartphone industry serving to lower income group to niche segment consumers. Life of a product in this industry has reduced to a large extent relying largely on R&D to match with the emerging trends. The price of a Smartphone is decreasing whereas the purchasing power of buyer is increasing. There is also huge competition between Ios, Windows, and Android at the OS
Apple has its competitors, as it is expected, and they do not fall behind by much. One of its biggest competitors is the company Samsung. For years, those two companies have been head to head in the electronical world. All over the web one can find all sorts of articles talking about the conflicts of those two companies and about how they each claim that the other one took their products and just changed its name. But thankfully, those two companies are still strong (no matter how much people complain about the other one) and they both have a lot of people supporting them. There are two sides when talking about phone and electronics: the Apple side and the Samsung side. Now, what those two companies need to be careful about is to not let their guards down and allow the competition to take over, but then again, Apple is well... Apple and they would never let that happen (they have not done it for almost 50 years, they would not do it
When it comes down to smartphones two main companies come to mind Apple and Samsung. Apple makes the phone called the iPhone. Samsung is the producer of the galaxy line of phones. In today’s day and age there is a lot of dependence on smartphones, from directions to places and restaurant ratings and also checking personal emails to phone calls, they do it all! There are many brands of smartphones and the top two are Apple and Samsung Both companies have features that bring customers to purchase their products and they also have certain features that push customers away. More than fifty percent of people in the world own a smartphone. Smartphones have defiantly made our way of life easier and majority of them all have the same functionality so whichever phone you choose all comes down to personal preference depending on a numerous amount of options that differ from each device. A lot of people today worry about appearance and what the next hot fad will be; this defiantly plays a part amongst other things that makes people want to purchase an iPhone or a Galaxy smartphone.
Apple has to stay on its toes and adapt, though they make a good percentage of their money in the US, they do sell to other countries to maximize their profits. If they are not paying attention to certain countries and their laws it could cause them to lose money. Like I mentioned before the 2 year warranty law in Europe will actually cost them to lose some money from their total revenue (Haslam).
Apple is one of the world’s greatest tech company and has its products sold in many countries. Apple makes about 34 percent of iPhone sales in America while compared to Android sales which is about 20 percent (Tung).
People say “Buy this product from this specific company because it has a rich history.” People, unfortunately, do not look upon other rivals and companies history. They just see what they want to see. Samsung, a South-Korean based company, established in 1938 is the largest information technology in the world for the past three years. Even though the company was created in the early 1900’s, the first product was released in 1970. Samsung’s first electronic device was a 12 inch black-and-white TV set. People who think that Samsung only creates phones, the first mobile phone system was created in 1992. On the other side of our argument, Apple Inc. is an American multinational created on the first of April 1976. Apple’s first device was the Apple I and the first Iphone generation was released to the public on June 26, 2007.
Apple is known for its various products including the Mac computer, the iPod, the iPhone, and the iPad. Founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, Apple has become a dominant company around the world ("The Apple Revolution: 10 Key Moments"). By incorporating cellular technology into the iPod, the iPhone was born and has been a major success for Apple (Noren). According to Eric Noren, in the article “Analysis of the Apple Business Model,” the iPhone was not necessarily a better phone, but it created an internet device “that made cell phones look like cheap, dumb pieces of plastic”. Steadily focusing on ease of use, quality construction, and customer experience to develop its hardware, software, and cloud service integration, Apple has advanced into a powerful mobile platform (Noren).
While profits from semiconductor sales are keeping stakeholders happy, Samsung is pursuing a differentiation strategy in the smartphone market. The managers are committing more resources to researching something they think will revolutionize phones. author name writes, “All smartphone makers face the issue of stagnancy in hardware innovation. Samsung is currently working on developing a smartphone with foldable displays…” (Tanner). There has not been a ground-breaking development in smart phones in the last few years, so the managers believe
...This frontier has reaped major benefits for their competitors in the Android market with a wide range of products targeting all income groups. Apple has begun the foray into developing products for lower income groups with the production of the iPhone 5c which is priced cheaper than it’s flagship product the iPhone 5s. A further advancement in that direction would reap major benefits for Apple. This second concern deals with a mixture of place and product in the marketing mix. Apple offers its operating system exclusively to Apple products and its unquestioned the success of that strategy, however, it must be said there exists a potential and real prospect of complete Apple domination of the software industry if it were to allow its operating system to float onto to other hardware providers in much the similar manner in which Microsoft has benefited greatly from.
is yet to reach its maximum potential. Truly a unique entity in its accomplishments and organization, apple through the conviction and leadership of Steve Jobs its founder and then CEO; have pioneered the revolution of mobile technology. When it comes to strength, apple Inc, has a great marketing team with great marketing and advertisement capabilities, strong brand awareness, a strong and extensive distribution channel, and most of all a vertical integration and the most obvious which is customer loyalty. With the acquisition of valuable companies such as Beats, WhatsApp, mobile payment systems with the IPhone 6, wearable gadgets like the IWatch, apple uses these opportunities to satisfy its loyal
When it comes to smart phone market share in the United States, Apple still trails Android by almost 10%. But if you are to break out the market share figures then you will notice that IPhone reigns supreme by a very wide margin. According to a lot of recent data compiled by ComScore, Phone’s share of the United States smartphone market now is about 43.6%, followed by Samsung which is at 27.6%. Apples market has increased by 4% almost every year, while Samsung has been dropping by 4% almost every year. Although Apple is doing a bit better than Samsung overall, Samsung is still topping Apple with their Android. During the second quarter of 2015 Samsung took a 21.7 percent of the global smartphone market, with shipments 73.2 million units. A reason I feel Samsung is doing much greater then apple right now is their ability to have all these different features, which not only add modern things to their phone but also longevity. With the three new water proof phones that Samsung has come out with Apple has yet to release their first
If you ask anybody in the world today they will tell you that we live in a world where technology is at the core of human life. We use technology for everything today. From processing food we eat, to being social, to transportation, everything we do has some relation to technology. No technological innovation though has become so popular as the one we use to communicate with daily. The Smartphone. First starting off as foot long cellular phones which could be seen a mile away to present Smartphones which we cannot seem to live without. Smartphones have changed the way that people live. Today you can see just about everyone on a Smartphone even children, which just comes to show how popular and demanding Smartphones have become. In fact, Smartphones have become a true necessity in the lives of people everywhere. There are many types of Smartphones out there. Some of the major phones include devices such as Apple's iPhone, HTC's One, and LG's G2, but only a few have made such a huge technological impression in this industry such as Samsung has done with its Galaxy and Note, two of the most popular Smartphones right now. We all have heard the name Samsung at some point in our lives. Maybe from the televisions they create or even from the chips they produce. The truth is that Samsung is a technological giant who has been around for many years, an empire, which continues to grow. A company whose mission is to "Inspire the World, Create the Future."
What is the best smartphone brand in the world? IPhone or Samsung? It is a question we are often asked. We all know that there are many high- class Smartphones Company in the market except Apple and Samsung, but nowadays people more likely to buy these two companies products and always like to compare them and trying to know which one is the leader of smartphones market. Most of people believe that Apple brought the smartphones revolution to the world and it changed “everything”, and maybe that is why Apple has more royal supporters than Samsung.
