Competency Goal Statement 1
To establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
1. My goals for the area of SAFE are to maintain the classroom and playground from any harm to children and to prevent any type of accidents from occurring.
To meet these goals I will have children walk in a line when entering and leaving the classroom so there is not a chance for them to get hurt or injured. When walking out the door children are asked to line up in the train position with bubbles in their mouth (for being quiet).
I am always checking the wooden playground equipment to make sure that there isn’t any loose parts or cracking/splintering of the wood that would constitute as being unsafe for the children.
2. My goals for the area of HEALTHY are to provide children with an environment full of nutrition and prevention of disease.
To meet these goals at snack time and lunchtime we offer healthy food so the children will have a variety of the food pyramid. They are getting a balanced meal with correct servings for there age.
I have children wash their hands throughout the day to get rid of germs. I am constantly reinforcing and showing children how to wash their hands correctly so that germs are not spread throughout the classroom to other children. They use tissues when they sneeze or cough so that the other children are not susceptible to bacteria from them. If they are not able to get a tissue in time we tell them to cough or sneeze in their arm rather than their hands so germs don’t spread as easily.
3. My goals for the area of LEARNING ENVIRONMENT are to promote children to learn basic knowledge and allow them to develop through play.
To meet these goals children are provided many activities throughout the day. In each learning center cooperative play is always encouraged.
The patent system grants an exclusive right of manufacturing, selling, and profiting from a specific invention. It is designed with the purpose of providing advance research and development and to encourage broader economic activity; however, complete disclosure is required in exchange for the twenty year protection to become monopoly.
East Brooklyn Community High School is a small transfer school located in Brownsville. The school has a small staff and a small population of students compared to most high schools in New York City. The history department has four teacher, Ron the Global Europe and Global Asia teacher, Ariela the Global Middle East, Global Latin America and Caribbean and Economics teacher, Jimmy the SPED teacher who helps out in all the history classes and myself Dominique the US History and Government teacher. Together we are a tight unit that spreads the love of history to our students. As a department every week, we check in on student performance, lesson study projects, and regent preparation for students in addition to weekly lesson approaches. Sometimes if we have time during our meetings we help, each other map out upcoming units. As a department, we observe each other classes to learn different strategies of teaching content and literacy.
The United States Patent Office (“USPTO”) faces criticism from its users and legislators that the timeliness of the patent process and ultimate quality of issued patents are inadequate. In order to address this criticism Congress made several changes to the authorities of the USPTO in the last decade and considered more changes in 2009. Nevertheless, problems persist and some stakeholders argue that reorganizing the USPTO as a government corporation would best alleviate these problems by broadening its authorities even further and releasing it from external constraints.
The practice of bioethics to alter one’s physical and mental happiness is portrayed as deceitful to many. This critical analysis evaluates an essay that pledges justification for self-improvement as morally right. The essay, “Bioengineering and Self-Improvement,” was written by Arthur Caplan, professor of bioethics and the University of Pennsylvania and director of Center for Bioethics. As presented in the essay, the author supports using technology in improving one’s vigor and appearance. In fact, he declares that Bioengineering improves one’s self through boosted confidence and self-respect. The author furnishes strong points and his essay is convincing of positive outcomes provided by biotechnology. The
Other people who may benefit from leasing includes those with a low monthly income. Generally speaking, a lease on a vehicle is going to come with a lower down payment and lower monthly payments. If you only average a $1,000 a month, you may be able to handle a car payment that is $300 instead of $600. It also ensures that if you like the vehicle, at the end of your lease, you may be able to turn the lease payments you have made into a way to pay it off once you decide to keep it.
The multi-national elite has seized for itself all privileges to create and innovate at the expense of the developing countries, who can no longer access the information and technology necessary to alleviate the suffering and privations of their citizens. The developing world has become the consumer of information, technology, drugs and research. It has become a market for the developed world. The law of intellectual property which is meant to incentivize innovation has been turned into a system of retarding innovation by perpetrating monopolies and a protectionist business
Solving the invention market failure is the less daunting problem of the two as existing intellectual property regulations, like patent law, already do this to a significant degree. However, the positive environmental externality market failure presents new difficulties for intellectual property law. Solving externality problems require internalizing the costs and benefits of externalities. Patent law must bring environmental innovators’ incentives to innovate in line with the actual societal or environmental value of their potential inventions. Placing private innovators’ incentives in accord with the social value of innovation will lead private innovators to engage in the socially or environmentally optimal level of
It is important for children to have opportunities to play as It helps then to develop and get to understand more about themselves and peers and each other’s likes and dislikes and can communicate with each-other and develop their social skills. Children will also be able to learn how to communicate with their main carers and understand more about the physical world and different textures. It's important to create a space for the child to play as all children feel curiosity and have a need to explore different things.
The goal is to have children be develop positive guidance strategies, independence, gain control, health and safety practices, and be good problem solvers. Having a good intentional plan will help the child become aware of their environment.
At “Don’t Worry Childcare”, the children and teachers are required to wash their hands during specific times of the day. Both the teachers and students are supposed to wash their hands after using the bathroom. They wash their hands before and after eating snacks and lunch. The teachers make the kids wash up after playing outdoors or leaving the classroom. Lastly, the children and teachers wash their hands after touching bodily fluid including, blood, snot, or spit. I have seen everyone wash their hands at those times. While washing their fingers and hands, I acknowledged the children have sung their ABC’s. They sung them loudly, and happily as if they enjoyed doing so. The teachers observed the children wash their hands to make certain each
It is my strong belief that each child is entitled to a safe, secure, stimulating and caring learning environment. I always believed that each child is a unique individual with much curiosity and many academic, social and emotional needs. Children need our support in order to mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. As a teacher, one should aim to help students in fulfilling their dreams to become successful and educated individuals. We must provide them with a safe learning environment for their learning to succeed.
As an early childhood educator it is my job to ensure that my classroom provides a safe and secure environment that is easily supervised with enrichment activities that are rich in play, teaching, people and experiences for all children within the classroom. Things that need to be considered when building an environment for children include space, equipment used, outdoor space needed and a flexible schedule that allows you to move in and out of the areas with smooth transitions.
Staying away from processed foods is the first step. Yet, to achieve a healthy diet, many people look to the internet. Many times finding that incorporation of all food groups is the best way to go. This is usually shown with the Food Pyramid, more recently with My Plate. The Food Pyramid was replaced with My Plate in 2011 because, “[like the Food Pyramid,] My Plate divides foods into five groups: fruits, vegetables, grains, protein foods, and dairy. It is meant to teach people how to create a balanced meal” (“Nutrition”). This is something the Food Pyramid did not provide information to. It just categorized foods into five food groups, leaving out the recommended amount of what is meant to be consumed a day. This left people with a bad impression that as long as all food groups were incorporated into a meal, the meal would be considered healthy. In contrast, My Plate, painted a picture of the amount of each food group that should be consumed at each meal. Now, it is more common to see school utilize My Plate and serve healthier meals during lunch and break. If more schools were to implement healthier options, schools would be able to help prevent overweight and obesity. With not just lectures, but with physical engagement (“Nutrition.” Healthy Living.). By having them choose between an apple or a banana, instead of some bag of chips and a cookie, there is a higher chance for them to make healthier
We all dream in the day we get to purchase our first vehicle. The day we stop asking our parents to take us here and there. Some may say buying a vehicle is a pain in the you know what. It can seem like a stressful situation if you're not familiar with the process. However, working in the car industry has taught me valuable tips and tricks that will help me teach you to save money when car buying.
If you need money to purchase assets for your business, leasing offers an alternative to traditional debt financing. Rather than borrow money to purchase equipment, you rent the assets instead. Leasing typically takes one of two forms: Operating leases usually provide you with both the asset you would be borrowing money to purchase and a service contract over a period of time, which is usually significantly less than the actual useful life of the asset. That means lower monthly payments. If negotiated properly, the operating lease will contain a clause that gives you the right to cancel the lease with little or no penalty. The cancellation clause provides you with flexibility in the event that sales decline or the equipment leased becomes obsolete. Capital leases differ from operating leases in that they usually don't include any maintenance services, and they involve your use of the equipment over the asset's full useful life.
