Compelling Campaigns If you are running for president, campaigning is a huge part of the process. Donald Trump spent a whopping 50 million dollars on his campaign, which contributed to his victory in the 2016 election. Campaigning allows you to get exposure sometimes good and sometimes bad. When your name is out there it allows people to form opinions and get a sense of who you are and what you are all about. The result of campaigning can be financial aid from willing supporters. If a president campaigns well enough they can bring in a lot of additional money. He begins the video by addressing the fact that his words about small businesses were switched around and taken out of context. The video then continues with clips of Americans working and completing task such as opening up shop, ringing up a customer, and sitting behind a desk consulting with a customer. Obama’s voice trails in the back where he speaks of the sacrifices individuals who own small businesses make everyday to make the economy run, create jobs, and meet a payroll. He ends the video describing how he plans to stand behind these very people by investing in education, job training, technology, and research. The video was compelling to me because I could tell Obama was aware of the sacrifices these people make. He was compassionate about the struggles that may come with owning a small business. Another aspect of the video that made it compelling was Obama addressed these misinterpretations of his words in a respectful but forthright manner. They way he did this allowed me to see him as a mature man. In closing Obama's 2012 campaign video was compelling because of the way he addressed a misunderstanding and his plans to support and stand behind small business
