Harry has had to overcome challenging people who had doubted him or tried to kill him. People like Sirius Black, lord Voldemort, Dementors, and even his own professors. They follow Harry around and practically torment him. Whenever Harry comes into contact with a Dementor he hears terrible screaming of woman that he comes to find out it’s his mom being murdered. “Dementors are among the most foulest creatures on earth”- says Professor Lupin, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Rowling introduced these things almost as a speed bump to Harry so that way he can overcome them to face his real challenge. When Harry encounters a dementor he becomes paralyzed with fear and starts to hear those awful flashbacks of his parents being murdered. Rowling makes sure Harry is in a complete state of paralysis to symbolise that he has to gain to control of his true strengths. It even happened on the train to Hogwarts where Harry had his first attack and Lupin scared it off. Professor Lupin has helped Harry in many ways but hides things from Harry. Lupin was the person who saved Harry from his first dementor attack. And was the one who taught him the spell to fend off Dementors for himself. Although he has done these things he had not given Harry the chance to use the nightmare machine to fight his worst fear. This is because he’d thought Harry would think of a dementor or voldemort. Snape is the oppressor out the group of teachers you could think of. Snape is a slytherin professor and he talks down to Harry. He has made Harry think that his fears are irrational and that he is somewhat of a big baby. Although Harry’s biggest fears are things that make him experience things unimaginable, like hearing his parents death, Or coming in contact with people that could kill him in a heartbeat. Cornelius Fudge is one of the men who are a part of the head ministry of magic. He is single handedly responsible for letting Harry stay at Hogwarts even though he broke the magic laws.
