According to merriam-webster.com (2014), A hero “is person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities”. A person can rarely be called a hero if they are not brave, this means that if this person will not able enough to speak up or act in a way that supports his cause or be able to protect or go through with his cause because of fear of the consequences that will stop him from succeeding. A hero to me is understand the consequences of the heroic actions they are committing but go through because of how much they believe in their cause. Merriam-webster.com (2014) states that originally the word hero derives from the both the Greek as “hērōs” or Latin ”Heros”, it was first used in the 14th century. Ai Weiwei and Wael Ghonim are considered heroes in their own rights because of the qualities that they shared. They we both educated men who understood their causes and why they supported it, Wael has a bachelors degree and an MBA, while Ai studied in multiple schools in the states.
