The Super Bowl and the World Series
The World Series and the Super Bowl are the games that happen at the end of the year between the best teams in their leagues. The Super Bowl comes from football and the World Series comes from baseball.

You either need to win your division or get in threw the wild card. In order to win your division you must have a better record than the remaining teams in your division. In order to win the wild card you must have a better record than the other teams that aren’t winning their divisions either. The division that each team is in has its own title based on where there team is located. The teams are also named after the conference they are in. For example, NFC North, NFC South, NFC East, NFC West, AFC North, AFC, South, AFC East, and AFC West. The difference between the NFC and the AFC is that the NFC is the National Football Conference and the AFC is the American Football Conference.

Putting shoe polish on the ball makes it spin more and makes it much easier to strike out a batter.

The 1919 World series resulted in the most famous Scandal in Baseball history. Eight players from the Chicago White Sox were accused of throwing the series against the Reds and were banned from Major League Baseball. (“History files-Chicago Black Sox”) All eight players were expelled in an attempt to save the purity of the game. The White Sox lost the opening game of the series nine to one, and then ended up losing the series five games to three. The National Football League was formed decades ago by the merger of two national leagues. The Super Bowl is the traditional season-end activity that crowns the national champion. Each team represented starts with one of the original leagues.The number of teams active in the NFL does not remain the same for longr.o. the game of professional football is big business and can be highly profitable. When the NFL announces that it has approved new expansion teams, there is intense competition among team less cities to attract one of the franchises. The game is profitable for team owners and for players, but it also is profitable for the cities in which teams are centered. It contributes to the local economy and enhances the stature of the city in where a team is located.
Now don’t be confused on the word football, since I am not talking about “soccer” at all. Football which is otherwise known as the NFL or the National Football League, is an American based sport that involves thirty-two teams from cities all over the country that compete against each other through strategy and strength in order to reach one goal; to win the Super Bowl.
The 49ers up until last year have had the best superbowl record out of any team that has ever played in a superbowl they were a astonishing 5-0. For the longest time SanFrancisco was known as the team that doesn’t loose superbowls. In the five superbowls that the 49ers have won they have outscored all 5 of their opponents by 99 points. The 49ers have scored 188 points in their five superbowl victories and have only given up 89 points. The NFL has become the most popular sport in the United States. It is watched my millions every weekend. The NFL is only growing in popularity. With new fans joining the fun every day. The NFL has faced its share of problems too. With concussions scaring away many future players, the NFL is hoping to lower the possibility of concussions in the future. Each NFL team plays a total of 16 games over a span of 17 weeks. There are two conferences in the NFL, the AFC and the NFC. There are four divisions in each conference, each with 4 teams. The playoff teams are decided by the division rankings. The winner of each division makes the playoffs, with the two best 2nd place teams making it in as a wild card.
Of all the games this week, I couldn’t think of a better game than what we have here. These two teams have a combined record of 22-6. The two quarterbacks involved in this game, Carson Palmer and Aaron Rodgers, are two of the best in the business. In my opinion, the winner of this game will be the NFC’s number two seed come January.
It all started in 1946 when the San Francisco 49ers first began their franchise. In 1950 is when the moved to the National Football League. They earned their name from the gold miners who surged in San Francisco, in 1849, in search for gold so they could start a new life. Their first owner, Anthony J. Morabito, who was from the University of Santa Clara alumnus, had a dream of bringing a football team to the west. He had been moderately successful in the lumber hauling business. To make this happen, Anthony was put in touch with Arch Ward, an editor of the Chicago Tribune. Mr. Ward is credited with the All-American Conference, which was first held in October 1944. Anthony, after a long talk and negotiating with Mr. Ward, was granted a franchise with help from his younger brother, Victor, and partners in his lumbering business, Allen E. Sorrell, and E. J. Everyone has a different opinion on what is the greatest comeback ever is; however, none can compare to the 2004 Red Sox American League Championship Series comeback. It is the greatest comeback of all-time. They are the only team to ever win a best of seven series after being in a deficit of three games to none. The only team ever to do this. They made history, and it most likely still haunts Yankees fans.. The ‘04 Sox comeback is the best of all time because it stunned the baseball world, led to a World Series victory, and has happened only once in history.
Following one’s hometown team or childhood NFL team through the regular season, playoffs, and hopefully, the Super Bowl has become a staple of today’s culture. Whether or not their favorite team makes it to the big Super Bowl game, they still find themselves cheering on one of the teams competing.
