I decided to compare Target and Kmart. Those two businesses are different and similar at the same time. Target sells items such as clothing, makeup, jewelry, kids items, etc. And Kmart almost sells the same thing, but the difference here is that Target location is virtually in every city, whereas Kmart is a retail store that has different places but the business is shutting down and closing stores in almost every state. Let us first start by looking at Target and explain how this is a successful business for years and how its strategy showed that Target has moved to be one of the critical business around the US. Target earned $69,495 billion in total revenues for the year of 2016. Target’s purpose is to make Target the preferred shopping store for all customers from different ages. Target business strategy has different strengths that are obvious and clear to even customers. The most outstanding dominant goal is that the company has been great at differentiating itself from other businesses by providing unique services to the customers. Therefore, Target has a rate of getting more loyal customers, their locations in almost in every city and every state. People prefer to go there because it has a little of everything that everyone might want. On the other hand, Kmart is an also a well-known store that sells almost the same items at Target. But Kmart is closing due to its loss. Let's first look at how Kmart started. Kmart was also open in the year of 1962 in downtown Detroit Michigan.
