Thomas Paine and Olaudah Equiano were authors from the early American and Colonial period. Paine an Equiano both wrote things that inspired others, but in the same time have different style in the way they wrote. Thomas Paine wrote the 52-page pamphlet called “Common Sense.” Thomas Paine wrote this to convince the American and British people to start to rebel and create a Declaration of Independence. Paine wrote this pamphlet because many people were not on board with separating from British king, King George III and the British Monarchy. After they read “Common Sense” many people starting wanting to release themselves from under the law of Great Britain.
