Clash of the Titans
In the movie, Perseus, the mortal son of Zeus, fights the monsters of the underworld to stop them from taking over the heavens and earth. The story according to the Greeks, Perseus, the mortal son of Zeus, goes on an adventure to recieve the head of Medusa to save his mom from marrying King Polydectes and along the way falls in love Princess Andromeda. Between the two stories there are similarities and differences in each version. Similarities between both versions are starting out in the story the character of Danae had an affair with the god Zeus. Hades shows himself to Perseus and with the rage of what Hades has done to Perseus, Perseus grabs a lighnting bolt from his sword and throws it at Hades sending him back to the underworld. Saving Andromeda and she offered to make him king and he had refused. Zeus asked if he wanted to join him in Olympus but refused and requested to stay a demi-god but Zeus granted him Io as a companion. In the story according to the Greeks Danae is the daughter of King Acrisius. When he had them put in a box and thrown into the ocean and saved by the fisherman named Dictys they both were still alive and Danae ended up falling in love with Dictys and they were married. Dictys’ brother King Polydectes wanted to take Danae as his wife, Perseus hearing the news he offered to pay any price for his mother not to marry King Polydectes. Sense Polydectes was afraid of Perseus he quickly made an offer that he will allow his mother to stay married to Dictys, only if he brings back the head of Medusa. I perfer the movie version because it has more action and I enjoy action filled movies. What I especailly like about the movie is the sacrifice scene because its so dramatic with the townspeople rushing around and Andromeda willing to sacrifice herself to save the people who don 't even care about her or havent even gave it a thought they just automatically say kill her. Another reason I like the movie is the Medusa scene because nobody who watches greek mythology based movies know exactly what she looks like and this movie probably gives a believable version of her. My preference is because from reading the story then watching the movie its creative on how they put it togther without making it look like a horrible
