High School vs. College Regardless of one’s level of education, the generation of today will be shaping the world of tomorrow. Civil Rights Activist, Nelson Mandela, put it best when he said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Many can interpret this quote as saying; the further an individual takes their education, the more opportunities in life they will be presented with to help develop the world into a safer, more logical place. In preparation for their future, not all, but most high school graduates choose to continue on the path to a higher education by either attending community college or a university. Having attended elementary and middle school together, many students have friendships that have already been formed long before they start their first day of freshman year. New friendships are made as the years progress whether it be through classes, sports, or clubs. Normally, no more than thirty-six adolescent bodies fill the desks of a high school classroom, which makes it easier for students to make connections with their teachers and other classmates. A healthy environment where they feel comfortable asking questions or for help in any given situation is then created and gets built upon each day that is spent in the classroom. The students that make the effort to go get extra help or actively ask questions during class, typically score higher on tests and quizzes than the students who do not. Tests and quizzes are given regularly in high school, but often times only cover a small amount of course material and do not require too many unnecessary, stressful hours of studying in order to get a good grade. Not always, but some teachers even let students re-take tests and quizzes if they ask politely, whether it be because they were absent on the day it was given, or they are just extremely unhappy with their original grade they …show more content…
